During the risk analysis, it was identified that the operator was exposed to the risk of hand crushing when positioning plates in the machine's cradle. The objective of the research was to implement technical modifications to ensure the machine's compliance with NR-12 and improve worker safety. The adaptation was guided by the NBR ISO 12100 and NBR 14153 standards, which served as the basis for the risk assessment, while the 5W2H tool was used to detail the necessary modifications. The process involved the preparation of a Preliminary Risk Assessment (PRA), machine adaptation with identified safety components, compliance testing, and the preparation of a technical report certifying safe operation. After implementing the adjustments, results showed a significant reduction in accident risks and increased productivity. Furthermore, there was an improvement in the quality of the plate tests, as the safety peripherals prevented operator intervention during the validation process.
