The research will analyze the operation of a turbine and show the effects of the incoming air on the machine's drop in performance. The generating engine object of this research is the GE LM6000PC aeroderivative gas turbine, located in an electric power generation park located in Manaus-Am. Based on bibliographic research, information collected in the generator park, the work developed as a descriptive research, and soon afterwards, simulations were performed using the Engineering Equation Solver (EES) thermodynamic function calculations program. The data generated in the EES were inserted in a spreadsheet and a graph of temperature vs. yield was generated in MS Excel. The graph shows, by means of variations in the parameters for decreasing the inlet air temperature, the quantification of the increase, up to 7.00%, in the efficiency of the gas turbine.
