Knowing it is fundamental to ensure its sustainability. However, it often has a role of little relevance in school practice and textbooks do not always succeed in awakening students’ interest in learning about this subject. This booklet aims to be a didactic resource that helps the teaching-learning process of soils in a contextualized and significant way, especially in municipal schools in the rural area of Manaus. It is organized in six chapters where the central character of the narration, shares with the reader, the knowledge built on soils.
