The initiative aims to increase the reliability, availability and resilience of the hospital's IT systems, ensuring the continuity of healthcare services in the event of communication failures. The choice of ring topology is motivated by its ability to provide multiple paths for data traffic, reducing points of failure and enabling agile recovery. Traffic redundancy is crucial to maintain the uninterrupted flow of information, even with failures in specific segments of the network. The project involves analyzing the existing infrastructure, identifying specific needs, planning and implementing the new network architecture, considering technical, operational and security aspects. Floor plans and network topology models will be used to illustrate the project.
