This research aims to study good maintenance practices for helicopters, highlighting your employment on the aircraft UH-60L Black Hawk aircraft of the army aviation that operates in the Amazon. The maintenance system is based on practices that are performed as determined by the manufacturer and determined by the planning and control board for the preservation and continued operation of the helicopter. These procedures are carried out by managers, inspectors and mechanics who control, monitor, guide and execute all the guidelines so that the maintenance is faithful to the planning. However, this work would not be possible without the help of the main control software: Sismanut and the theoretical and practical knowledge of the professionals, indispensable for making maintenance easier. The helicopter is quite versatile, since it allows landing in remote places, with space restrictions and without aerodrome support. Having the helicopter fleet up to date is essential to carry out various activities and to maintain its use for many years. In view of the above, this study was carried out with a qualitative approach, where bibliographic, documentary and field research were carried out, emphasizing the verification of the composition and functioning of the elements that make up the maintenance system of the UH-60L Black Hawk through of technical laws and manuals. The result obtained ensures that good maintenance practices guarantee the preservation of aircraft by the 4th aviation battalion of the army and contribute to the safety of the military who man the aircraft for different purposes, preserving lives.
