    Considering that autonomous maintenance is based on the ability of the manual labor to carry out small and simple maintenance techniques, which can range from cleaning and lubrication to even the retightening and regulation of machines, these types of routines generate a critical sensor in the operators so they are able to look after and detect future problems. In view of the effectiveness of these practices, the WCM (World Class Manufacturing) methodology turned them into one of its 10 technical pillars, for the development of these activities within the methodology it is necessary to follow the tools: CIL-R, Dirt source map, AM cards, Area classification, Golden zone, SOP, 5S, ECRS. The entire process of implementing autonomous maintenance on a machine begins with the reestablishment of its basic conditions, so it is essential to clean and remove useless objects, in order to identify and treat such anomalies. The following steps will only be effective if the first one is done in a thorough and precise way, as they are based on the results found in the previous one. The research presented in this work is related to the implementation of the autonomous maintenance pillar according to the WCM methodology in a packaging machine, expressing in the field all the tools and possibilities for improvement in the processes achieved through the WCM practices.
