Foodborne Diseases (FD) are a group of illnesses caused by ingesting contaminated food and/or water. FD are diseases that occur all over the world, causing problems and damage to the health of the human population, being of great importance for public health. Health education is a concept that aims to preserve individual and collective health, a situation in which society acquires, in a didactic manner, scientific knowledge that promotes an exchange of unhealthy habits for healthy ones, knowledge that is disseminated by performance and commitment of health professionals. The present work was carried out with students from the 7th year of elementary school at a Manaus Municipal School, seeking to assess knowledge and promote awareness among students about FD, through educational activities. The results showed that adolescents have a great capacity for memorization and learning, thus health education practices are of great relevance to this audience, as they will be able to replicate healthy habits and also spread them. Practices like these are of paramount importance for the dissemination of the role of the veterinarian as a public health agent and for the prophylaxis of FD.
