The objective of this work is to present a study to improve the efficiency of hydropneumatic screwdrivers that was applied in a company that manufactures motorcycles in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, in order to increase the durability of these pneumatic tools in the production process. In methodological terms, a qualitative and quantitative research was used, as low efficiency phenomena and occurrences were analyzed based on data collected in the process through the use of quality tools. The present study addressed the causes of the loss of efficiency of hydropneumatic screwdrivers, as well as the solutions for improving the efficiency of these tools. The research showed the causes of the low torque of the screwdrivers and presented excellent results with the implementation of equipment for the treatment of compressed air and lubrication of the pneumatic unit of the screwdrivers. Thus, it was important to note that in order to extract a good performance from pneumatic tools, both air treatment and lubrication of pneumatic components are necessary. The results also pointed out that the proposed improvement project increased the efficiency of the screwdrivers and optimized maintenance costs and time.
