To help Computing Teachers that work directly with the Math students we create this didactical guide where they can find in a simple form, the foundations, methods and necessary resources to apply the PBI inside the classes. Abstract: Investigation-Based Programming (PBI) is a teaching-learning plan of computer programming aimed at college Mathematics students. The knowledge through PBI happens in a progressive way connected to examples that start with activities that stimulate investigation, discovering and independent learning. The PBI develops and improves skills to automate algebraic equations and the plotting graphs using programming language.

There is a worldwide movement to popularize programming learning among students of Basic Education. However, few movements have been identified in the sense of improving initial teacher training to use computer programming as a potentiating resource for teaching and learning, making future teachers more prepared to receive students who will arrive at school with this knowledge. Given this issue, we present in this dissertation proposal for teaching and learning, named PBI (Research-Based Programming) that assists Computer teachers who work in the Graduate Courses in Mathematics, teaching the licensed programming. Based on Mathematical Investigations and using Python, PBI aims to empower the licensed in Mathematics to use computer programming in order to automate algebraic equations and plotting of graphs The knowledge gained will help them exploit the potential of the programming for your own learning and your future students. It is a qualitative research, which used the action research as a strategy for your development, being structured in three phases: planning, implementation and evaluation. The participants of this studies were 18 Degree in Mathematics students enrolled in the discipline of Information and Communication Technology Applied to Education, the Course of Degree in Mathematics of the Federal Institute of Acre (IFAC), Campus Cruzeiro do Sul. (Acre-Brasil). The results of this study revealed that most of the students managed to build programs to automate solutions to problems involving algebraic equations and plotting of graphs, in the context of the first and second degree equations, functions of the second degree and ellipses. As a product of this research, we have a Didactic Guide containing guidelines and resources for PBI can be replicated by other Computer teachers who work in Graduate Courses.
