This research project aims to understand in practice the biggest challenges of physics teachers in the task of teaching deaf students, as well as the possible distresses of those students who are studying elementary or high school subjects, which involve the area of physics. In this phase, we propose a scientific bibliographic survey about existing didactic materials for teaching physics and their applicability, in addition to understanding what teachers and students have to say about such challenges in the teaching-learning process. After collecting and analyzing data, the great difficulty existing between teachers and deaf students when it comes to the subject of physics was ratified. It was possible to conclude that it is possible to raise the learning level of these students based on an adaptation by everyone involved in the classroom, including materials and teaching methods.
