The dog is considered the most important species, because there is a large contingent of animals infected with skin parasitism, constituting the main link in the chain of transmission of visceral leishmaniasis, since the dog's role as a reservoir of LT has been discussed and under study. In Amazonas the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis increased significantly, following the economic growth of the state. In this research the presence of anti-leishmania spp. and epidemiological determination of risk factors associated with Leishmania spp. in dogs from the municipalities of Manaus and Presidente Figueiredo in the state of Amazonas. They were analyzed in 152 dogs, 50 in Manaus and 102 in Presidente Figueiredo, and 32 were positive. The test performed for screening for leishmaniasis was Exame Dual Path Platform (DPP®).
