In order to carry out a study of the results, the present work proposes a comparative analysis of bodies of equal thickness of 1/4 ", with posterior tensile testing and analysis of the results by stress strain diagrams. In order to improve the knowledge about the work, is made the bibliographic review study with the main topics related to the study, for example, symbologies used in the welding, welding equipment used in industry, coated electrode concept, as well as its specifications of use, safety standards that are used, the sample body model and the type of test used. The steel used in the study has a low carbon content, on average 0.2%, and is composed of manganese, phosphorus. For the preparation of the test specimens, the plasma cutting process was used due to its ease and simplicity of use. The welding process chosen was the electrode coating with direct current from ESAB MOD OrigoTM ARC 406 machine. The results show the differences in the mechanical strengths, the number of passages and the point of rupture of the weld for each type of current.
