(2025-07-21) Maquiné, Aldenei de Lima; Damasceno, Micael Felipe; Feitoza, José Costa
Currently, the sand bottle is used for control soils compaction in most earth works in the Amazonas, relating the apparent specific mass "in situ" with the apparent specific mass dry according to the optimum humidity obtained in the laboratory. This is a geotechnical test using washed, dried and standardized sand in the granulometric range between 0.80 and 0.60 millimeters. This research replaces the sand in the standardized bottle, with fine aggregate from the metropolitan region of Manaus-AM. The granulometry tests indicate that the sand collected from this research is very uniform, well graded and has a maximum characteristic diameter equal to 1.19 mm. The predominant granulometric fraction classifies the particulate material from Manaus as medium sand (56.67%), with apparent dry specific mass and grain mass respectively equal to 1.5118 g/cm³ and 2.6042 g/cm³. Performed the field tests were carried out in the parking lot of the Instituto Federal do Amazonas (IFAM), Manaus Centro Campus, obtaining the apparent specific masses "in situ" with the standard sand bottles equal to 1,727.74 kg/m³ and with fine aggregate from Manaus the value of 1,620.13 kg/m³. The Degree of Compaction was satisfactorily evaluated based on the relative percentage error, with a view to paving in the Amazonas.

In the current context of the construction industry, the use of tools for planning and controlling works is essential, as this way processes are optimized, become more efficient and costs are reduced. Based on this context, the aim of this research is to demonstrate the importance of using resources such as online platforms and software to carry out planning, by comparing the execution of two vertical construction projects, where one uses a computer control system and the other does not. The main indicators of a project were observed, such as execution according to plans, deadlines, costs, productivity and the quality obtained at the end of the work. The conclusion is that when software is used strategically and correctly, making sure that the information collected and entered into the system is true, problems and possible solutions can be mapped out to achieve the following result: a project with profitable management and execution, compliance with the schedule and budget, and a reduction in errors that would lead to poor quality and non-compliance with sustainability on the construction site, such as waste of materials.

(2025-01-28) Nobre, Jaritsa Maria da Costa; Aguiar, Cristiane Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8948885803989120; Aguiar, Cristiane Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8948885803989120; Fernandes, Francisco José Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3166612623704256; Lucena, Ana Maria Dias da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3426441277160847
This paper aims to describe the process of regularizing and obtaining a occupancy permit for a single-family social housing property located in the Cidade Nova I neighborhood in the city of Manaus, Amazonas. Urban expansion requires strict control by public organizations, making regularization and issuance of a occupancy permit essential for the proper occupation of spaces and the correct execution of works and engineering services. The Cidade Nova neighborhood, located in the northern part of Manaus, was planned in the 1980s during the government of Professor José Bernardino Lindoso, initially to house 15,000 low-income housing units. However, only 1,800 homes were completed in the first phase, inaugurated on April 23, 1981. Since then, the neighborhood has expanded to include stages I, II, III, IV, and V, becoming the most populous in Manaus. The regularization of properties in Cidade Nova is an ongoing and detailed process that involves the presentation of documents, architectural projects, and obtaining certificates. The Municipal Institute of Urban Planning of Manaus (IMPLURB) considers regularization and occupancy permits essential for issuing the Certificate of Regularization and Occupancy Permit for buildings completed without prior approval and licensing of the architectural project. This study describes the case study of a single-family property that underwent this process, completed in approximately four months, resulting in a 20% increase in value after the issuance of the occupancy permit. During the execution of this work, the stages and challenges faced in the regularization and occupancy permit process were analyzed, with emphasis on the conformity of the building volume with current standards and the absence of frontal setback from the land, as required by Law No. 1.838/2014. The proposed alternatives were also evaluated, such as the applicant's handwritten justification due to socioeconomic limitations, and the CMDU's opinion that verified the possibility of regularizing the property. The results showed that, in addition to legalizing the occupation and use of the space, regularization provides greater security and peace of mind to the owners. The success in obtaining the occupancy permit represents habitability under current legislation and reflects the commitment to sustainable and orderly urban development in the city of Manaus. For future work, we suggest implementing realtime sharing systems between the sectors responsible for analyzing the regularization process, providing guides and teaching manuals, and creating free or low-cost technical and legal assistance programs.

Inteligência Artificial na construção civil: benefícios, desafios e a importância do profissional na tomada de decisão
(2025-03-03) Barboza, Tereza Nazaré Ulloa; Aguiar, Cristiane Pereira de
The research explores the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on decision-making in the construction industry, particularly in the use of programs for the preparation of architectural projects. Although AI offers several opportunities for resource optimization, scenario simulation, and process automation, it also presents challenges, such as the dependence on automated systems that can compromise the quality of technical work. The study seeks to investigate the potential benefits and risks associated with the implementation of AI in the sector, with a focus on the creation and management of architectural projects. The methodology adopted involved bibliographic research based on academic articles, books, and recent case studies, with a thematic analysis: identifying the programs that are classified as AI and how they affect today's civil engineering scenario, their challenges, and benefits. The results indicate that, although AI can improve efficiency and reduce costs, its application without technical supervision can generate misinterpretation and legal problems, especially when users do not have specialized training. The research concludes that, in order to maximize the benefits of AI, it is essential that construction professionals continue to act critically, supervising technological tools and ensuring that projects comply with local standards and requirements. Therefore, AI should be seen as a complementary tool, and not as a substitute for the technical knowledge of professionals in the sector.

(2025-01-27) Santos, Mateus Bandeira dos; Taveira, Alberto Fábio da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9514824896688750; Taveira, Alberto Fábio da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9514824896688750; Santos, Luiz Eduardo Mateus dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5752567774043165; Fernandes, Francisco José Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3166612623704256
The choice of paving material is essential in urban projects, influencing durability, cost, aesthetics and environmental impact. At Condomínio Quintas de São José do Rio Negro, in Manaus, local weather conditions, such as intense rain and high temperatures, made this decision even more relevant. A comparative analysis between interlocking paver and asphalt revealed advantages and advantages of both materials. The interlocking paver stood out for its appearance, aesthetic appeal, high resistance and ability to move through the block joints, reducing the impact of rain on the drainage system. Asphalt showed greater capacity for intense traffic but presented higher maintenance costs and lower environmental sustainability. In tropical regions, interlocking pavement performed better against rain and heat, while asphalt suffered greater wear, increasing costs and damaging its useful life. From an environmental point of view, the paver contributed to recharging groundwater and minimizing flooding, while asphalt, derived from petroleum, generated a greater environmental impact. Economically, although paving has a higher initial cost, its durability and lower maintenance requirements make it more advantageous in the long term. Asphalt, despite being more accessible initially, required occasional interventions, increasing costs over time. It is concluded that the interlocking paver is the ideal solution to meet the needs of the condominium, offering a balance between technical, economic and environmental aspects.
