In their work, Figueroa and Nobre (1990) used 226 rainfall stations to identify the spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall in the Amazon region. This survey identified in detail the period of the year where rainfall occurs most frequently in the region, while the period of highest rainfall was identified between November and March. The city of Manaus, is located in the central part of the Amazon, Region that have high precipitation rates over 600 mm. This work was developed with the objective of analyzing the effects of these atmospheric precipitations on the signal propagation of the LTE 4G technology in the city, to identify areas of low coverage, since these failures are due to rapid rains, heavy rains or long term rainfall. Natural phenomena that frequently occur in the rainy season of the Amazon Region. Signal Prediction software installed on a notebook was used to collect this data received by the network access equipment, a modem enabled for web access and other services, and a Frequency Scanner was also used to collect the Gross Signal, the electromagnetic wave itself emitted by the Base Radio Stations (ERB) installed by the city of Manaus in several strategic points. Subsequently, a comparison was made of the measurements made in the environment with enough trees and few buildings with opposite climatic conditions, intense rains and intense sun. The chosen location of the first comparative analysis is located in the neighborhood of Santa Etelvina, chosen for analysis of aerial images of the city of Manaus with the Free Software Google EARTH. The second location chosen for the comparative analysis was the neighborhood of Cachoerinha, where there are quite old buildings and not much wooded and following the same criteria, opposite climatic conditions, intense rains and intense sun. With the comparative, we can verify attenuation that occurred in the rainy season and improve the coverage in those periods that frequently occur in the city.Item Tratamento de ruído ingressante em rede HFC(2020-02-11) Silva, Marllon da Silva e; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; Silva, Nivaldo Rodrigues; Ribeiro, Ewerton Andrey GodinhoTechnological advances in the cable TV network, allow the achievement of higher transfer rates, however with a limited spectrum, it is necessary to optimize the network, increasing its density, consequently reducing the space for noise. For this purpose, a field research was fulfilled to understand how the process of treating noise in the network is applied, with some practices and results observed being presented at the end.Item Rede de Rádio XBEE para supervisão, telecomando e controle da iluminação pública(2020-02-11) Tavares, Enio Nichollas Cordeiro; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; Silva, Nivaldo Rodrigues e; Ribeiro, Ewerton Andrey GodinhoPublic lighting is a fundamental asset for society, since its emergence, due to the important role it plays, bringing clarity in periods when natural light is absent, especially in urban areas, enabling the development of night activities, such as commerce, leisure, tourism and also helping to inhibit criminal practices during these periods. The public lighting system is a service that, of course, must accompany the growth of cities and the increase in demand, making system supervision and control even more important and necessary. Dependence on essential services like this, may mean that there is a need to obtain more and more new, intelligent and effective alternatives to maintain the services. This work aims to demonstrate how communication via XBee radios can be inserted in this context, and help in the supervision and control of public lighting. In order to achieve the objective, we sought to develop a project based on the formation of a communication network, using the ZigBee protocol, through the XBee radios, in which there is a supervision and control station and a remote station, simulating a public lighting spot, which uses an LDR light sensor to collect data from the environment, and sends it, through the ZigBee network, to the supervision and control station. The supervision and control station also has the Arduino platform, which uses the processing capacity to analyze the data received and send a control command to the remote station. The network formed by the XBee radios proved to be reliable, easy to initiate and good performance, thanks to the fast and stable connection of the modules, which allowed the remote node to send the collected data to the central and get the control remote back to the activation of the lighting point. In addition, an application was created to record remote drives, so that there is the possibility of analyzing and monitoring the project's operation.Item A importância da utilização da rede SDH em substituição da PDH na transmissão óptica: estudo de casa em uma empresa de telecomunicação OI.(2020-02-11) Moura, Richardson Souza de; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3583358046117558; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3583358046117558; Silva, Nivaldo Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9653122662843005; Ribeiro, Ewerton Andrey Godinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0187470129136467This study arose from the need for the perception that the telecommunications company OI had to meet the high demand of subscribers who called the company after the fixed telephone service interruption that happened when the fiber optic broke, causing performance decrease in the indicator. the company's unemployment and thus the need for a study and project to solve the problem indicated by the subscribers. This study took place in the northern zone of Manaus, where the replacement of PDH modems by SDH interconnected with ring topology was performed, allowing greater gain in service protection and equipment stability in the fixed telephone service in the study area. SDH is a unified, high-speed digital transmission system that provides greater capacity and efficiency in network management, as well as a considerable price reduction. The multiplexing process, because it is more flexible, makes this step much simpler than PDH, which requires equipment symmetry at all points of the network. An SDH signal can be inserted at a higher rate without going through intermediate stages (BERNAL FILHO, 2009). The paper described the advantages and disadvantages of using data transmission via SDH for enterprise. The methods employed were bibliographic and field research, with replacement of data via PDH by SDH. After replacement, the availability of services was improved, especially due to the remote management obtained. It was concluded that the ring configuration proved to be very efficient in this region due mainly to the infrastructure problems brought by the growth of this region.Item Analisador de Espectro com Arduino na Faixa de Rádio FM para Fins Didáticos(2020-10-26) Palheta, Harryson Barbosa; Frota, Vitor Bremgartner da; Frota, Vitor Bremgartner da; Fernandes, Priscila Silva; Silva, Nivaldo RodriguesThis monograph presents the development of software that simulates a Spectrum Analyzer for didactic purposes made with Arduino and a TEA5767 FM radio shield in the frequency of 87.5 to 108 MHz, interacting with any personal computer. In this sense, the concept of Smart Grid is highlighted as an intelligent network that can improve the efficiency of the system in general, considering the importance of energy management. However, for Smart Grids to be effectively reliable, it is necessary to integrate different types of equipment, communication technologies and data processing. And as a delimitation of this study, the communication networks that make up the Smart Grids are highlighted, as a topic of great importance in telecommunications systems. In this sense, the objective of this study is: To present the communication technologies that cover the Smart Grid network sector. To this end, a literature review was carried out based on publications in the area of Telecommunications, Energy and Technology, in libraries of higher education institutions and virtual libraries such as the Scientific Electronic Library Online - SciELO. It was verified that the communication system is the key element of the Smart Grid infrastructure, since all initiatives in Smart Electric Grids pass through a communication infrastructure. Therefore, an intelligent electrical system switches the entire supply of energy through the distribution network, managing the need for energy through a communication system. The technologies studied in this study were: Wi-Fi, SigFox, LoraWAN, ZigBee, WiSUN and GPRS, which are technologies that operate from data collection to the calculation of monitored electrical quantities. Thus, the intelligence of the network resides in the ability of the devices to communicate, exchanging information that makes it possible to build a safer and more efficient network, based on a broad telecommunications support.Item A tecnologia lora no campo das telecomunicações, seus benefícios, inovações e características(2023-03-02) Medeiros, André Luiz Gomes de; Cordeiro, Celso Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4969144304480235; Cordeiro, Celso Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4969144304480235; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3583358046117558; Ribeiro, Ewerton Andrey Godinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0187470129136467With the increasing number of devices connected to the network, more and more the Internet of Things comes into focus. There are applications that demand high or low transmission rate, large or small coverage, or the need for little maintenance, for difficult access places, for example. There is a range of widespread technologies that can cover these demands, and this study highlighted LoRa technology in the field of telecommunications. In this way, the general objective of this monograph is: To present the performance of LoRa technology in the field of telecommunications, detailing its characteristics, benefits and innovations in the area. To this end, a clear and concise literature review on the subject was carried out, based on findings in the literature. It was possible to demonstrate that LoRa devices revolutionized the internet of things, enabling data communication over a long range, using very little energy. When connected to a non-cellular LoRaWAN network, LoRa devices accommodate a wide range of IoT applications, transmitting packets of important information. LoRaWAN networks bridge the technology gap for cellular and Wi-Fi-based networks that command high bandwidth or high power, or have limited range or inability to penetrate deep indoor environments. It was verified that the LoRa technology allows the development of several projects in the sector in which the amount of data to be transmitted by the sensors at the final edges of the structure is not very large. Thus, in episodes where videos, heavy images and other information need to be transmitted to the Application Server, perhaps LoRa is not yet a solution. However, in situations where more succinct information (texts and measurements, among other data) is sent, LoRa networks can be implemented with good performance, as highlighted in this study in the case of intelligent management of the water network, connectivity in the field, detection of natural disasters and environmental monitoring as well as location of assets.Item Redes wi-fi mesh: uma revisão de literatura(2023-03-02) Araújo, Raman Pimentel; Cordeiro, Celso Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4969144304480235; Cordeiro, Celso Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4969144304480235; Souza, José Geraldo de Pontes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3583358046117558; Ribeiro, Ewerton Andrey Godinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0187470129136467Mesh Wi-Fi networking has been increasingly used as an efficient solution to coverage and performance issues in traditional Wi-Fi networks. However, open TV faces challenges, particularly due to the rise of streaming services and cable TV, which offer on-demand content and interactivity. Although SmartTVs integrate internet functionality, their interactive experience depends on broadband connections and applications, limiting accessibility for some audiences. Additionally, simultaneous use of mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, often distracts viewers, reducing engagement with traditional programming. To address these challenges, 4G mochilink technology has emerged as a strategic solution, especially for communication professionals who require mobility and high-quality real-time transmission. This technology enables external live broadcasts in locations with limited internet infrastructure, particularly valuable in regions like Manaus, with geographical and network coverage challenges. This study proposes an analysis of video and audio signal quality transmitted via 4G mochilink in Manaus, assessing its effectiveness as a mobile transmission alternative for digital open TV. By utilizing mochilink, the aim is to expand open TV’s reach and provide greater accessibility in areas with limited internet infrastructure. The research seeks to provide technical data to optimize 4G mochilink use for live broadcasts, supporting the expansion of digital TV’s reach and quality.
