Xô, Dengue! O uso das TDICs para a prevenção na escola
(2025-03-13) Cruz, De Angelo Silva da; Paes, Lucilene da Silva; Silva, Viviane Gomes
Dengue is one of the main public health challenges in Brazil, requiring effective preventive actions. This educational product aims to enable high school students to understand disease transmission, prevention, and control using Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) as learning tools. The proposal is structured into five modules, covering the concept of dengue to the creation of digital awareness campaigns. The methodology is based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) and amification, promoting student engagement and encouraging active participation in society. This material is expected to contribute to the dissemination of correct information about dengue, making students agents of prevention and control of Aedes aegypti.

Dengue represents one of the most serious public health problems in Brazil, with significant impacts, especially in the Northern region, due to climatic and social factors that facilitate the routine of Aedes aegypti. Health education plays a fundamental role in raising awareness and preventing diseases, making it essential to adopt innovative pedagogical strategies that promote meaningful learning and student engagement. In this context, this qualitative research aimed to investigate the impact of a didactic sequence mediated by Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) on the teaching of biology for the prevention and control of dengue in a public school in the state of Amazonas. The research methodology was based on action research, with the application of a didactic sequence grounded in Problem Based Learning (PBL), combined with the use of interactive digital platforms, infographics, educational videos, and other digital tools. Data collection was conducted through diagnostic questionnaires (initial and final) and participant observation using learning rubrics to assess student performance in sessions 4 and 5. The results indicated that the incorporation of DICTs into teaching enabled greater student participation, promoting dynamic and contextualized learning, as well as contributing to changes in students' perception and behavior regarding preventive measures against dengue. The developed educational product, consisting of a didactic guide and an infographic for students, proves to be an effective tool for strengthening the integration between education and public health. Thus, this study contributes to advancing educational practices beyond health promotion and can serve as a reference for future initiatives in the field of health education. These findings reinforce the importance of DICTs in knowledge construction, as advocated by Ausubel (2003) in meaningful learning theory and by Zabala (1998) in structuring contextualized didactic sequences.

Educação em saúde a partir da produção de histórias em quadrinhos: guia didático
(2023-11-27) Belém, Josiana Ferreira; Paes, Lucilene da Silva; Oliveira, Adriano Teixeira de
This product originates from the dissertation entitled "Comic stories: a didactic alternative for teaching and learning about diseases caused by helminths", developed in the Postgraduate Program in Technological Education - PPGET, of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Amazonas, with the aim of assisting and encouraging health education in the classroom through the use and production of comic books, as a didactic alternative in the process of teaching and learning content related to diseases caused by helminths. In this proposal, the contents refer to three diseases caused by helminths, ascariasis, hookworm and enterobiasis.

Helminthiases are intestinal diseases caused by helminths (worms), representing a significant challenge for public health. This problem is aggravated by the disparity in the distribution of basic sanitation services and the lack of information about infections, their modes of transmission and prophylactic measures. Thus, one of the ways to promote health and encourage healthy lifestyle practices is through health education in the school environment. This practice not only encourages changes in behavior, but also contributes substantially to improving quality of life and fosters the development of knowledge that promotes self-care. In this learning context, the use of comic books can be presented as a didactic alternative that facilitates the teaching and learning process on the topic of helminthiasis. Comics and their various genres have become popular in recent decades and have been inserted into the school environment with the purpose of assisting in the development of learning situations. Therefore, this research aims to investigate a didactic proposal systematized in the Three Pedagogical Moments (3MP), focusing on teaching and learning the theme of helminthiasis through comic books, aimed at high school students. The approach adopted in this research is qualitative in nature, using participatory research as its methodology. Data collection took place through the application of a diagnostic questionnaire, the answers to which helped both in verifying prior knowledge about the topic in question and in characterizing the subjects; and final questionnaire for the research and production of digital comics, in addition to participant observation. The results of the questionnaires were tabulated and analyzed in Microsoft Excel and presented in the form of tables and graphs, while the comics were evaluated based on an analytical rubric. The educational product resulting from this research is a teaching guide entitled “Health education from the production of comic books: teaching guide”, which presents a didactic proposal for health education in high school. The use of 3MP in conjunction with the language of comics, combined with activities centered on the active participation of students, played a fundamental role in the engagement and motivation of participants throughout the pedagogical activities. This resulted in a better understanding of the content studied and the acquisition of new knowledge related to the forms of transmission, symptoms, causative agents and prevention measures for helminthiasis.
