This practical guide is the result of master’s research entitled “Social inequalities in education and their impacts on the process of dropout and retention of high school students integrated into a Federal Institute during the pandemic period”. Its purpose is to present, based on concrete cases, social problems that may directly and/or indirectly aff ect the retention and dropout of integrated high school students, raising awareness not only for teachers, but also for other employees at the Manaus-Centro Campus regarding the impacts of social inequalities in education. It contains information regarding integrated secondary education, the role of multidisciplinary teams and suggestions for integrated
activities. In addition, it presents a list of useful contacts for referring students to the attention network and also for reporting any form of rights violation.
