    This work addresses the proposal for automating the guarana seed dehydration machine at Fazenda Maués, a branch of Cibea Manaus. The farm, recognized for producing high-quality guarana since 2009, incorporated a new machine into its production system in 2022, modernizing the dehydration process, which is essential for ensuring the quality and viability of the seeds. The automation proposal includes a closed-loop control system, in which the temperature and uniformity of the dehydration would be continuously monitored by sensors. This data would allow for real-time automatic adjustments, ensuring that the temperature remains within the desired limits, which is crucial for the quality of the final product. The PID (Proportional-IntegralDerivative) controller would be the central component of this system, regulating the fan speed and ensuring uniform dehydration. The adoption of this technology is expected to bring significant improvements in terms of efficiency, precision in process control, and sustainability, reducing energy waste and operation time. Closed-loop automation has the potential to raise control and quality standards in the dehydration of guarana seeds, representing a significant advancement in the local agribusiness. Therefore, this work aims to contribute to the understanding of the proposed innovations in guarana industry automation, highlighting its importance for modernization and quality in production.

    This work describes the development and implementation of a prototype AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) on a reduced scale, aimed at transporting raw materials in industrial environments, with an emphasis on automation. The robot was designed to follow guided paths marked by lines and use sensors for navigation and obstacle detection. The robot's control system was developed using electronic circuits and specific programming. The main objective is to ensure precise and efficient transportation of raw materials, minimizing the need for manual intervention and reducing operational risks associated with this activity. The expected results indicate that the development of the robot can lead to significant improvements in operational efficiency and safety, with a potential reduction in the frequency of accidents and downtime associated with material transportation. Automation promises important benefits, such as reducing the dependence on specialized labor and creating new opportunities for optimizing industrial processes. The expectation is that the robot's operation will provide a safer and more economical workflow, improving overall efficiency in the industrial environment.

    Análise das dificuldades da logística humanitária praticada junto aos ribeirinhos do Tarumã Mirim durante a seca extrema amazônica de 2024 e propostas de mitigação

    This study aimed to analyze the difficulties of humanitarian logistics practiced among the riverside dwellers of the Tarumã Mirim River during the drought and to propose courses of action capable of mitigating its harmful impacts. The survey method was used, with data collected through semistructured interviews and observation with a sample intentionally chosen from among the actors with the most significant participation and knowledge of the logistics actions practiced, analyzed with semantic and content analysis techniques, and the results presented in summary tables. The results showed that the difficulties in a) transporting goods were the reduction in river levels and the appearance of sandbanks and rocks; b) in the distribution of essential services were the failures in the supply of water and energy and health and education; in communication, the existence of few transmission towers, the lack of fiber optics, the lack of satellite communication and the high prices of communication equipment; d) the impacts of the difficulties were the reduction in the transport of goods, the impossibility of river traffic and the inability to carry out environmental logistics; and e) mitigation was to create infrastructure and access to water resources, improve transportation infrastructure, promote economic resilience, preserve the environment with sustainable resource management, strengthen participatory public policies and partnerships and universalize information and communication technology. The conclusion points to the lack of systematic humanitarian logistics during the 2024 drought, whose actions were closer to improvisation than those of other regions cataloged in scientific databases.

    Controle de um sistema de automatização residencial com software bluetooth para comando com uso de plataforma arduino

    This work presents the development of a home automation system based on the Arduino platform, with control performed through a Bluetooth communication application. The main objective is to provide greater practicality, safety and energy efficiency in the domestic environment, using low-cost and easy-to-implement solutions. The system allows the remote activation of electrical devices, such as lamps and fans, through a Smartphone, ensuring accessibility and convenience to the user. The control interface was developed using an Android-compatible application, which communicates with the JDY-16 Bluetooth module coupled to the Arduino UNO. The tests demonstrated the effectiveness of the system in responding quickly to the commands sent, as well as the reliability of the wireless connection over short distances. The results obtained indicate that the integration between hardware and software is viable for home automation applications, contributing to the dissemination of accessible home automation technologies.

    The objective of this work is to develop a lithium battery inspection system based on the integration of Programmable Logic Controllers and Machine Learning, identifying advantages, disadvantages, and challenges associated with meeting the needs of industrial facilities. The project seeks to use low-cost materials and technologies, ensuring its economic viability and ease of construction. The innovation of the work lies in the adaptation of organizational needs, using Industry 4.0 tools, providing a practical, efficient, and assertive solution. Thus, the proposed system aims to address these aspects, offering an accessible solution for detecting assembly, optimization, and quality failures. The system inspection is based on a supervised learning that detects the battery via webcam and then compares the captured image with the model created from the OK and NG datasets. Therefore, the difference between the two results in an approved or rejected result for the part. The developed system performed well in its inspections during testing and validation. In addition, the work designated the observation of this integration in other segments, instigating opportunities and improvements for effective advancement. Therefore, the study concluded that, despite the significant challenges to implementing AM in PLCs, the integration shows promise for optimizing operational efficiency, flexibility, data transmission, cost reduction, and decision-making support in companies with limited resources and a need for modernization.

    Análise das dificuldades na coleta de resíduos sólidos do ponto de vista de um coletor na cidade de Manaus, Brasil

    A large part of humanity already understands that natural resources are finite. It is, therefore, necessary to reuse all the materials and products we use as many times as possible, which has become an increasingly growing challenge. In this sense, this study aimed to analyze the main difficulties encountered in the selective collection of solid waste in Manaus from a collector's perspective. For this, the method used consisted of the following steps: a) elaboration of a theoretical architecture about the stages of the reverse logistics process, b) creation of an interview script based on the elaborate architecture and guiding questions, c) data collection with the member of a group of collectors, who explained and exemplified the interviewee's answers, d) organization of the collected data and generation of answers to the guiding questions. The results showed that five were the main difficulties encountered, which were classified as environmental (regional climate), conscientious (the lack of willingness of the population to collaborate with selective collection), transportation (lack of material and equipment), and commercial (the pricing of materials is not rewarding). The conclusion shows that only the environmental factor cannot be controlled. However, its effects can be mitigated if the other four difficulties are practiced, which is not a simple task.

    O impacto da tecnologia 5G na redução da latência e aumento da capacidade em redes de alta demanda

    The growing demand for data traffic in mobile networks has posed significant performance challenges, especially when users access content hosted on international servers. In this context, 5G technology emerges as an advanced solution capable of increasing efficiency, reducing latency, and optimizing resource utilization. This work aims to analyze how 5G addresses the issue of slow performance in high-traffic situations by leveraging features such as Network Slicing, edge computing, Massive MIMO, and spectrum aggregation. These features enable the creation of dedicated virtual networks, data processing closer to the enduser, and greater bandwidth, even in overload scenarios. The research will be based on simulations and case studies, comparing 5G's performance with previous generations, such as 4G, in terms of latency, capacity, and spectral efficiency. Furthermore, the study will discuss the impacts of this technology in high-density environments and the regulatory challenges associated with spectrum usage. The expected results include a significant improvement in the quality of service, even in high-demand areas, demonstrating the potential of 5G to transform user experience and global telecommunications infrastructure.

    This work proposes the study of methods that seek to unite concepts from society 5.0 and industry 4.0 to be used in favor of sustainability. With the increase in the production of plastic waste around the world and its low recycling rate, there was a need to reduce the impact on the ecosystem. The methodology used was applied, explanatory research with a technological design. As a result, three methods were developed for recognizing recyclable waste. Finally, the method selected used a convolutional neural network to create and train a classifier for a machine, powered by plastic and metal lids. The aim of this system is to promote sustainability and reduce the amount of recyclable materials disposed of inappropriately in the environment. Therefore, this work aims to develop low-cost sorters and select the best one to be used in an machine powered by recyclable waste.

    Theretrofit process was carried out on a suitable band saw machine used for removing aluminum burrs after the mold injection process, aiming to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance with the NR12 standard. Initially, a detailed diagnosis of the machine was conducted, identifying structural, electrical, and operational failures that compromissei productivity and posed risque to operators. Based on this analysis, improvements were defined, such as replacing worn-out components, reorganizing the electrical panel, and implementing safety devices. The modernization of the machine enabled safer and more efficient operation, reducing the risk of accidents and increasing equipment reliability. Additionally, the project contributed to compliance with regulatory requirements and the optimization of energy consumption, making the equipment more sustainable and productive. The results obtained demonstrate the importance of retrofitting as a viable solution for upgrading obsolete industrial machines, ensuring greater safety and performance in the workplace

    Um estudo sobre a aplicação da inteligência artificial na movimentação de materiais a partir de publicações científicas

    Artificial intelligence is one of the information and communication technologies that has promoted major transformations in organizations and their production processes, especially material handling. The growing number of published studies led to the development of this study, which aimed to describe the main characteristics of studies that report the application of artificial intelligence in material handling. The method used was the conceptual bibliographic, bibliometric design based on four stages: formulation of research questions, collection of bibliographic data, analysis, organization of the collected data, and generation of answers to the guiding questions. The results showed that the focuses of the applications are a) improvement and optimization of the logistics process, increased rationality of human-machine actions, and optimization of the decision-making process, b) use of several simultaneous methods and techniques, c) facing problematic situations aimed at problem-solving and generation of technologies, d) application of multiple artificial intelligence tools, e) successful results have increased competitiveness and rationality in material handling and f) opening for new and interconnected applications. The conclusion shows that using artificial intelligence has provided an environment for enhancing human cognitive capacity. The main contribution of this study to science is the finding that professional training in logistics needs to incorporate mastery of artificial intelligence.
