Currently, due to the culture of industrialized products consumption, human beings end up producing, on average, just over 1 kg of solid waste per day. A large part of this waste is made up of materials that, through proper disposal, could be put back into the production cycle. However, the amount of residuum waste disposed of responsibly is far from ideal, generating sanitation problems in cities. This work proposes to develop a digital system that, using the gamification strategy, attracts attention, raises awareness and encourages many sectors of the society to actively participate in the process of disposal and selective waste collection in the city of Manaus. We will present here this system implementation, its modules, its versions in a Web and Mobile environment, in addition to the communication between such environments carried out through a Web Service REST.

Currently, the world has many problems related to pollution, one of them is the inadequate waste disposal, which ends up generating many problems for society, the environment, the fauna and the flora. For this reason, a reflection on the strategies used in classroom science teaching with regard to materials recycling is important, as today’s students will be the future of society and need to have a more environmental awareness so that take better care of the planet. Thus, this research had as its main objective to sensitize the students of the 6th grade about the waste produced by them, and to transform this waste into products such as toys and handicrafts. It was held at the Paula Ângela Francinetti State school, located in the south of Manaus – AM. Therefore, a methodology of this study was based on the theoretical exposition classes, involving issues inherent to the theme, then groups were created for making crafts and toys, from recyclable materials that were previously wasted in everyday life for use presented in the workshop. Initially, we applied a previous questionnaire about student’s knowledge about basic questions: what is garbage? What is selective collection? Later it took place in a laboratory in which students exposed their confections and commented on the respect of which materials were reused and how important this process was. At the end of the workshop, a questionnaire is applied with questions on all subjects covered in the lectures, also conducted a qualitative assessment in which you should analyze the ideas of students after the teaching learning process on the developed theme. This study indicated results that reaffirm the effectiveness of theoretical and practical exposition in the process of teaching and learning in science, highlighting the form, which is the importance of using practices in science education.

Inadequate disposal of used cooking oil is a topic currently widely discussed for optimization of this product. It is known that one of the major problems facing our society today is the environmental issue and the various ways of recycling this material. Saponification is a process that underscores the importance of this recycling of frying oil in the general chemical discipline that is applied in high school most often worked in the classroom in a summarized way and it has other particularities and extremely important in educational development. . The general chemistry classes in this process-learning presented concepts and content performing theoretical and practical methodologies of how to recycle the cooking oil used to make handmade soap. However, let us mention as fundamental the measurement of pH in the manufacture of products handled by man. However, it was observed the facts of the development of scientific-practical knowledge inserted in the daily life of students in a participatory, motivating and engaging approach collected from moments such as: diagnosis, intervention (lectures and dialogues) and verification of learning. This research was applied in the classroom / chemistry laboratory at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology Amazonas - IFAM - CMC, with performance, dedication and flexibility on the part of all involved. The methodologies of this work had a huge concern with the recycling of cooking oil transforming it into (homemade soap), a biodegradable product benefiting the environment and the man focused on teaching and learning generating a better quality of life. This work has as general objective to use the production process of the soap based on the reuse of cooking oil, aggregating in the understanding of the sustainable practice and in the teaching of general chemistry for students of the first year of high school.

Companies in the Brazilian industrial sector are always looking for ways to become or remain competitive in the market. For this, they need to see in their processes opportunities that set precedents for improvement. Within this context, the reduction of costs based on the reduction of waste of raw material or any other resource is a reality. Therefore, this work has as main objective to show the technical and economic feasibility of using recycled zamac alloy in an industry in Manaus / AM. Because, in line with the aspiration of most companies, this use aims precisely to make the best use of the raw material, bringing with it the other benefits. To achieve this objective, the work makes use of a case study in that company, using a methodology provided with bibliographic and documentary research. In addition, through technical visits and some tests, data were collected to analyze the use of zamac waste through recycling. The research ends the study reaching a positive conclusion, in which it is shown to be viable to use the recycled raw material in the studied company, so that the necessary adjustments can be made. As for the technical parameters that guarantee a good performance of the material, the recycled Zamac alloy meets the specifications if it is mixed with the virgin raw material in a certain proportion. As for the financial issues that need to be of benefit to the company, the use of recycled Zamac alloy represents a recovery of approximately 77% of the material that would be discarded.
