    With the increasing concern about fluctuations in fuel prices, the need to search for options offering greater economic viability becomes evident. In this context, compressed natural gas (CNG) emerges as a promising alternative, not only providing price stability but also significant economic advantages when compared to gasoline and ethanol. The conducted study also aims to assess the availability of natural gas in the Amazon region, with a focus on its supply in the municipality of Manaus. This involves examining existing distribution infrastructure and expansion possibilities to meet the growing demand for cleaner and more economical fuels. Another relevant aspect addressed is the analysis of exhaust emissions indices in a sample of vehicles powered by compressed natural gas in the city of Manaus, compared to conventional liquid fuels such as gasoline and ethanol. The reduction of atmospheric pollutant emissions represents a significant advantage of CNG, contributing to improved air quality and the mitigation of climate change. Through this research, the feasibility of CNG utilization in Manaus is sought to be demonstrated, while also providing insights for public policies promoting the transition to more sustainable and economical energy sources in the transportation sector.

    This study presents the adaptation of a test press to comply with Regulatory Standard 12 (NR-12) of the Ministry of Labor. During the risk analysis, it was identified that the operator was exposed to the risk of hand crushing when positioning plates in the machine's cradle. The objective of the research was to implement technical modifications to ensure the machine's compliance with NR-12 and improve worker safety. The adaptation was guided by the NBR ISO 12100 and NBR 14153 standards, which served as the basis for the risk assessment, while the 5W2H tool was used to detail the necessary modifications. The process involved the preparation of a Preliminary Risk Assessment (PRA), machine adaptation with identified safety components, compliance testing, and the preparation of a technical report certifying safe operation. After implementing the adjustments, results showed a significant reduction in accident risks and increased productivity. Furthermore, there was an improvement in the quality of the plate tests, as the safety peripherals prevented operator intervention during the validation process. In conclusion, the machine's adaptation provided benefits for both worker safety and the efficiency and quality of the production process.

    This research aims to create a special tool to assist in the assembly and disassembly of the wheel hubs of the C295 aircraft Aiming at an increase in productivity and a reduction in the time used for safe and objective maintenance. When it comes to the mechanics of cargo and troop transport aircraft, specifically, there is a whole sequence of factors that directly influence the availability of the aircraft. This can affect existing demands, such as transportation of supplies to more distant locations, the cause of an aeronautical accident, failure to carry out an aeromedical evacuation (EVAM) or transport of organs, causing the worsening of medical situations, which may lead to the loss of the patient. Given this, this study was carried out with a qualitative and quantitative approach, based on bibliographical and documentary research, nothing the need for safer and faster preventive and/or corrective maintenance. For this, technical manuals were also used, respecting the foreseen limits, avoiding damage and loss of aeronautical materials, contributing to the State’s economy. Upon completion of the research, it is found that the use of the special tool allows for safety and, in a positive way, increases the availability of the C295 aircraft.

    The failure analysis of a vehicle suspension pivot was presented through a case study in which the part sample was evaluated. The suspension pivot is an element that receives large loads from braking, up and down movement of the wheel and change of direction. He is responsible for sustaining the wheel and connecting the bodywork to the other suspension elements. The part is a model belonging to a 2013 passenger vehicle, which after the failure was stored in a plastic bag from the new replaced part, after being stored indoors for about six months. The manufacturer of the part was also not identified. Ductile failures usually occur during manufacturing or service start-up. According to ASTM Handbook 11, the most common ductile fracture failures are related to errors in controlling service stresses, misuse or abuse in service, improper selection or processing of materials, or poor manufacturing. The present study was intended to show a correct analysis of mechanical failure. In the fractographic analysis stages, a preliminary examination was carried out, which includes; the photographic record of the piece received, and cleaning and macroscopic examination, this consists of observing the fractured surface in a stereomicroscope. Finally, a microscopic examination was carried out using scanning electron microscopy and metallography to observe the characteristics of the material.

    Over the years, Augmented Reality (AR) has gained applications in several areas, one of these areas was the area of education, which used the tool as a means of developing more dynamic classes, making the theoretical content taught in the classroom more interesting. In general, technical courses still do not have in their curriculum the use of augmented reality as a support in the teaching of disciplines in the technical area, so that when the student does not have access to the practical class due to the unavailability of adequate equipment, it ends up being restricted. to the theoretical content of the equipment. In this way, this work develops an academic research that encourages the use of augmented reality as a technological support tool, but also prepares students with a certain practice through augmented reality. As a result, a portfolio of parts from the Organic Elements of Machines discipline of the Technical Course in Electromechanics at IFAM was developed, which was applied through a mini-course to the students of the course.

    This study examined the application of the Poka Yoke method in new fastening technologies within industrial manufacturing operations. The system was designed to be error-proof (Poka Yoke). The integration with smart electronic tool technology aimed not only to optimize the fastening process but also to ensure the correct execution of activities within the process. To achieve this, the Poka Yoke technique was applied in stages, also known as "Step Motion," to separate operations into stages and prevent errors in the fastening sequence. The development of error-proof operational systems proved to be a viable solution for achieving total quality in manufacturing processes, contributing to increased productivity in industrial processes by minimizing human errors and enhancing the efficiency and quality of products.

    The research addresses the inefficiency of the machine responsible for assembling packaging boxes for adhesive products, representing a significant challenge in the production of a chemical products company. The analysis revealed that this operational failure negatively impacted the efficiency of the production line, necessitating manual packaging and increasing the time required to complete the task. This inefficiency not only compromised the operation but also resulted in a reduction in production capacity, an increased risk of human errors in manual packaging, and potential damage to products. The need to reallocate labor for manual packaging generated additional costs for the company. In this scenario, it became imperative to address and resolve the problem to optimize the efficiency of the production process. The implementation of improvements in the packaging box assembly machine became a strategic priority to minimize negative impacts on production. To effectively deal with inefficiencies, the company applied the PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act) method, a recognized tool for improvement management. The improvement team conducted a detailed data collection using the 5W1H tool to fully understand the problem. An initial countermeasure was adopted, adding an operator for manual box assembly while seeking a more comprehensive solution. The Ishikawa Diagram was used to map possible causes of inefficiency, including materials, processes, equipment, labor, and the environment. The Five Whys technique was applied to identify underlying root causes. Based on the identified causes, an action plan was developed, highlighting two crucial actions. A control plan was established to prevent recurrences of the problem.The results demonstrated significant improvements in the assembly process, allowing for the strategic reallocation of operators and increasing overall efficiency. The project's success underscores the effectiveness of quality tools in resolving operational challenges and emphasizes the importance of integrating quality practices into continuous improvement projects for operational excellence.

    Electric resistance welding has great relevance in the Brazilian industry, being applied in several sectors. Specifically, seam welding, which is extremely important in the manufacturing scenario. However, this technique presents considerable risks for the operators involved. In this context, Regulatory Standard 12 (NR12) appears as a guideline to guarantee the safety and well-being of these workers. Therefore, the objective of this work is to carry out an in-depth analysis of the risks associated with the seam welding machine, proposing improvements based on the risk assessment, in accordance with the guidelines established by NR12. The main focus is to seek improvements in working conditions and operator safety, aiming to achieve superior results in the context of industrial production.

    The ventilation system is an essential component in professional kitchens as it helps remove smoke, grease and other contaminants from the air. Furthermore, the ventilation system is also important to ensure health, safety and comfort conditions for workers. The present study aimed to generate data related to the compliance conditions of the ventilation system installed in a professional kitchen at IFAM - Campus Manaus Centro. This seeks to demonstrate the degree of conformity of the desired items in the installed system. To carry out the analysis, a literature review on the subject was carried out, technical visits to the research site, development and application of a compliance checklist were carried out. The evaluation focused on aspects such as the efficiency of the ventilation system, safety of kitchen workers, and as a main point the system's compliance with the regulatory standard NBR 14518 – ventilation systems in professional kitchens. The results of the analysis indicated that due to the absence of fundamental points underlying the normative guidelines, the system was characterized as being in a non-compliant state
