When they took care during his conservation and handling they become essential for maintenance of the quality and prevention of zoonoses of parasitic origin. Given his food importance, this study aimed to report the parasitic incident and the quality of fishes marketed in Manaus AM. Acquired 47 samples of fresh fish in three places (Market of the Betânia, Mercado Municipal Adolpho Lisboa, and Oporto of the CEASA), for sensory analyses, chemical physical and parasitic, what were carried out in the Laboratory of Veterinary Anatomy of the IFAM Campus Manaus Eastern Zone, between August 2018 to July 2019. The fish is considered parasites were preserved in formol to 10% and identified through stereoscope. Health and quality of the fishes happened still an interview with objective questions to 25 market traders on the subject. 100% (25/25) finds the fish a healthy food; 32%(8/25) believes that the fish does not make equal ill to other animals; 44% (11/25) affirms that there is no possibility of transmission of diseases through the fish; 76% (19/25) understands that the veterinary doctor is important to guarantee the health and the quality of the fish; and 68% (17/25) affirmed to have interest in receiving materials on good practices of handling and conservation of the fish. In the analyses chemical physical, 42,5% (20/47) presented pH bigger than 7,0, and 100% (47/47) temperature between 14.2ºC to 20Cº. In the sensory analyses, 91,48% (43/47) presented at least an alteration in the form, color or odor, possibly made a list to the conservation and / to the storage in the collection places. The parasitic incident was positive in 12,7% (6/47) of the samples with 10,6% (5/47) for Acanthocephala sp., 0,6% (3/47) for examples of Colossoma macropomum and 0,4% (2/47) of Triportheus albus. In 0,2% (1/47), represented by a specimen of Semaprochilodus taeniurus, it found a trematódeo of the suborder Digenea, I live in this fish. Such trematódeos are between the important parasites of the medicine that can cause serious damages to the health, including the death, if the fish is consumed rawly. The chemical physical, sensory alterations, and parasitology found observed in this study they show that there is compromising of the quality and innocuity of the fish, so the confirmation of the parasitic incident indicates the possibility to have transmission of zoonoses. Before the results, there is suggested the realization of the most effective services of inspection and inspection, and also what are adopted better conditions of conservation and storage to guarantee the quality and innocuity of the fish marketed in markets of Manaus.Item Glaucoma em pequenos animais - revisão de literatura(2019-12-06) Marques, Viviane de Araújo; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Lima, Cristiano Lopes de; Cavalcante, Akel AraujoGlaucoma is a term used for a group of diseases characterized by increased intraocular pressure, which can progress to blindness through functional changes in the optic nerve and retina. This work aims to present the different classifications of glaucoma, to describe the main consequent intraocular changes and the most used diagnostic and therapeutic choices in the veterinary ophthalmic routine. This is a bibliographic research in which we sought to study several articles, dissertations, literary source and research projects regarding glaucoma and its ophthalmic implications. It has been found that glaucoma in small animals may be primary, when it originates from a defect in the aqueous humor drainage angle, or secondary, when a previous alteration led to the glaucomatous condition. All intraocular structures may change due to glaucoma. The diagnosis is made by clinical signs, added to the increase in intraocular pressure, drainage angle and fundus changes, verified by complementary exams. Therapeutic approaches, medical or surgical procedures, aim to slow the progression of the disease, either by reducing the aqueous humor production and/or stimulating its drainage. It is considered crucial for the best prognosis to understand the cause and evolution of the disease, so that the therapeutic choice can be successful in delaying the disease and maintaining vision.Item Cuidados iniciais com o neonato canino-revisão de literatura(2019-12-05) Esteves, Isis Mônica Fontes; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Vieira , Flavia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Hoffmann, Daniel José; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993Neonatology is defined as the science responsible for the study concerning newborns. The canine neonatal period comprises the first two weeks of life of the puppy and this time requires specific care due to its fragility and particularities. The neonatal phase is full of adaptations that occur concomitantly with the development of vital functions not performed during intrauterine life. During birth the newborn is subjected to stress when moving from a liquid, closed and stable temperature environment to a dry, open and variable temperature environment, being forced, even under the best conditions, to undergo circulatory, respiratory, metabolic and other changes. Immunological So many changes make neonatal physiology different when compared to adult canine and require specialized care, as the mortality of puppies in veterinary medicine is high compared to human medicine. The bitch's health before pregnancy may reflect directly on embryonic, fetal and neonatal survival. Therefore, the female should be followed before pregnancy, undergoing pre-pregnancy examinations and throughout prenatal follow-up. Given the above, this paper aims to perform a literature review on the care to which the canine newborn should be submitted, specifically considering it’s particular physiology, some of the pathologies that may affect it and the integrity of maternal health to ensure its viability to the world. extrauterine.Item Ozonioterapia em paciente canino com malasseziose: relato de caso(2019-12-09) Silva Junior, Marcos Andre; Sousa, Eduardo Lima de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/0603403280314248; Sousa, Eduardo Lima de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/0603403280314248; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos Santos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Ishida, Renata LeikoMalasseziosis is an opportunistic disease caused by fungi of the genus Malassezia sp present in the skin of healthy animals, where the irregular growth of the agent is triggered by several factors such as stress, immunossupression, favorable environment for the fungi, exacerbated wrinkles, to name a few. Clinical signs are dermatological, ranging from erythema, lichenification, pruritus, and alopecia, rarely causing systemic disorder. The diagnosis can be confirmed by skin cytology, with the presence of more than two fungi per scanning field, the fungal culture is also an option. This paper aims to describe the use of ozonetherapy on a canine patient with malasseziosis resistant to conventional treatment. The treatment was performed with the association of several ozonetherapy techniques, as follows: bagging, rectal insufflation and through ozonated minor autohemotherapy. After 13 weekly sessions the clinical signs regressed greatly. Thus, ozonetherapy was effective in controlling the malasseziosis.Item Perfil proteico, energetico, enzimático e mineral de Búfalas Murrah alimentadas com dieta á base de cana-de-açúcar e diferentes concentrações de ureia(2019-12-03) Praia, Daniel da Silva; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Castro, Francisco Martins de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2942899610434005; Elias, Eliana Pereira; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/9977486802768496Due to the need to understand and maintain the necessary nutritional balance conditions in animal production, the objective of this study was to determine the profile of the main American biochemical variables and to evaluate how the nutritional and physiological variables of these individuals are met in relation to this alternative way. The experiment was conducted in the Bubalinoculture sector of the Department of Animal Science, Laboratory of Metabolic and Nutritional Diseases of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and at the Center for Analytical Chemistry of the Research Support Center (CENAPESQ), both from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). . Nineteen new Murrah buffaloes with initial mean body weight (CP) of 210 ± 50 kg were used. The animals were weighed, used and deminerated before the beginning of the experimental period and housed in individual stalls, individual feeders and tonnage drinkers for two animals. The study lasted 62 days, from July 26 to September 26, 2019. It was found that the provision of sugarcane-based diet supplemented with increasing urea levels of 0, 0.7, 1, 4 and 2.1% for murrah buffalo heifers negatively influence the weight gain of these animals, and linearly increase serum urea and urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration, does not affect energy, protein, mineral metabolism and enzymatic activity. Therefore, it does not recommend the use of sugarcane diets with the urea use ranges to murrah buffalo heifers using weight gain. M But an experimental diet is recommended as an alternative food maintenance alternative, which can be used both as an economically viable option for the monetary value of its components, and as a valuable food source applied to scarce food. foods and regions that highlighted the production of national sugarcane, especially the northeast of Brazil.Item Estabilização da articulação sacroilíaca de um felino com uso de parafuso ortopédico convencional para reparo de luxação(2019-12-03) Santos, Luciana Sarmento dos; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Leandro, Estevão Marcio Cavalcante; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/3882732903717316; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307Pelvic fractures are estimated to be the most common in small animal clinics, accounting for about 27% of all cases of axial skeleton fractures. This large percentage is due to its occurrence being related to car accidents, falls and bites, not excluding the hereditary osteometabolic diseases and bone tumors. Treatment may be conservative, with medication and space restriction, or surgical, which is defined after information provided by anamnesis, clinical examination and diagnostic imaging, especially with radiographic examination. There are several types of approach and surgical technique for each type of fracture. Thus, the veterinarian should be fully educated so that he can opt for the best possible treatment, as there are several. In addition to instructing the pet tutor about the space constraint that the pet will need for a certain period and the appropriate clinical support for the pet.Item Bem-estar animal no manejo pré-abate e abate de aves: revisão de literatura(2019-12-06) Albuquerque, Mariana Silva; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos Santos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Brandão, Mariza Dinah Manes; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/8540977723934655Animal Welfare is characterized by ensuring adequate management conditions, whether it is the nutritional, environmental or genetic parameters, making it possible to animal adapt and interact in the best possible way to the environment in which it lives. Thus, this study aims to conduct a bibliographic review on animal welfare in pre-slaughter and slaughter management of chicken, describing pre-slaughter activities, stunning, bleeding and the Certified Humane® program. Improper handling of animals during pre-slaughter and slaughter can represent significant losses in meat quality and value, also being a key factor in ensuring welfare in poultry production. To this end, the particularities of each species must be respected from catching the animals at the farm until the time of slaughter, therefore, avoiding animal maltreatment and to promote actions aimed at animal protection and welfare. Once welfare standards are met, the chances are high that a quality end product will be obtained without high levels of partial or total carcass condemnation.Item Serviços de inspeção de produtos de origem animal no Brasil: histórico e atualidades(2019-12-06) Lima, Stéfane Paula Costa de Holanda; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Reis, Rodiney Medeiros dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/8812070618495058; Silva, Isnandia Andreia Almeida daInspection services of animal products in Brazil has an economic, social and political importance because they control the hygienic and sanitary conditions of food companies. The lack of knowledge about the current industrial inspection legislation affects the food safety and promote informality in the food chain. In this sense, the present study aimed to describe the public policies for food safety in Brazil, as well as aspects of food safety that permeate the official inspection services, through a bibliographic review of the food hygiene legislation and scientific articles. From this work, it can be concluded that the sanitary legislation in Brazil has undergone several changes due to the increased production and export of animal products. It is still necessary regulate the artisanal production in order to understand and delimit the handmade process, without leaving doubts or gaps in what may affect the safety of food. In addition, irregular production is still a reality in Brazil and represents a great threat to public health. It occurs when the kidneys become unable to maintain their excretory, regulatory and endocrine functions in animals. The clinical picture of a feline with CKD is nonspecific and the most commonly observed clinical signs include anorexia, lethargy, polyuria and polydipsia. Clinical and historical findings suggestive of CKD, as well as increased serum creatinine concentration, inappropriately low specific urinary density, persistent increase in symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), and evidence of sonographic changes. Staging is performed after CKD diagnosis, based on blood creatinine or SDMA concentration, and substaging is based on whether or not hypertension and proteinuria occur. Treatment consists of supportive and symptomatic therapy designed to correct abnormalities in hydroelectrolytic, acid-base, endocrine and nutritional balance. Diet modification are considered standard therapy for the treatment of CKD. Renal diets (RDs) are specifically formulated for the purpose of clinical management of cats with CKD, modified based on the impact of declining renal function and supplemented with nutrients that improve disease complications. Protein restriction is recommended as they reduce nitrogenous waste and glomerular proteinuria; lowering serum phosphorus concentration is also associated with better long-term survival, decreasing the incidence of secondary hyperparathyroidism; Reducing sodium intake may be beneficial in CKD patients due to sodium retention and the potential for systemic arterial hypertension. Hypokalemia is common in cats with CKD, and diets formulated for CKD may provide potassium supplementation; supplementation with polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (EPA) exerts renoprotective effects, may reduce glomerular hypertension and proteinuria, and limit the production of proinflammatory mediators. Thus, renal diets play an important role in decreasing clinical signs of uremia and, in the face of a progressive disease, slowing the progression of the disease, which increases the expectation and quality of life of patients. Thus, the objective of this study was to review the nutritional management of cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and to discuss the main nutrients present in renal diets.Item Soroprevalência e determinação epidemiológica de fatores de risco associados a infecção por Leishmania spp. em cães dos municípios de Manaus e Presidente Figueiredo(2019-12-09) Firmino, Débora Menezes; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Tonin, Alexandre Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6912106214152950; Hoffmann; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993Leishmaniasis is a parasitosis that has attracted the attention of health authorities in recent years, as the numbers of cases are increasing in Brazil. The dog is considered the most important species, because there is a large contingent of animals infected with skin parasitism, constituting the main link in the chain of transmission of visceral leishmaniasis, since the dog's role as a reservoir of LT has been discussed and under study. In Amazonas the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis increased significantly, following the economic growth of the state. In this research the presence of anti-leishmania spp. and epidemiological determination of risk factors associated with Leishmania spp. in dogs from the municipalities of Manaus and Presidente Figueiredo in the state of Amazonas. They were analyzed in 152 dogs, 50 in Manaus and 102 in Presidente Figueiredo, and 32 were positive. The test performed for screening for leishmaniasis was Exame Dual Path Platform (DPP®).
