    Teaching organic chemistry in high school requires teaching strategies (ANASTASIOU, 2015) that enable the appropriation of knowledge as well as human development. This monograph aims to investigate the thought operations developed through the memory game in the teaching of oxygenated and nitrogenous organic functions in high school at a State School in the city of Manaus-AM. The study is characterized through qualitative and descriptive approaches, using an observation diary carried out in a pedagogical intervention project as a scholarship holder in the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID). To achieve the general objective, the didactic game in the teaching process of Chemistry and the identification of the thought operations developed in the memory game of oxygenated and nitrogenous organic functions were discussed. The fundamentals of the teaching strategy (ANASTASIOU, 2015) allowed the identification of thought operations developed in the memory game. The construction of the game, the elaboration of the rules and the participation in the game allowed the students to verify the following thought operations: comparison, summary, observation, classification, project planning and research. the memory game built by the teacher-student avoids the "game for the game" and focuses on the effectiveness of learning when considering the group, the steps, the linked thoughts and especially the feedback in the student's speech that demonstrates the effectiveness of the game.

    The work presents considerations about a research carried out with 43 high school students during the night of a public school located in the city of Manaus - AM, in 2016. It was sought to ascertain in which aspects the teaching of Chemistry from the theme "drugs "Contributes to the teaching and learning process of the content" organic functions ". For this, a methodology was elaborated, based on the perspective of the National Curricular Parameters of the Secondary School implemented during 13 moments and evaluated using the questionnaire as data collection instrument. The data are organized in the following sequence: 1) Elaboration of the Methodology; 2) Application of the Proposal; 3) Application of the Questionnaire; 4) Analysis of Responses. From the results, it can be seen that the methodology applied from the thematic "drugs" enables improvements in the teaching-learning process of organic content functions from the following aspects: Relate the organic compounds present in the drugs with the theoretical content; Explaining the different existing organic functions in a contextualized way; Addressing the social experience of the people through the theme "drugs"; Demonstrating the dangers of legal and illegal substances in society.

    This undergraduate thesis has as its objective to present a didactic sequence that teaches Oxigenated Organic Functions for the 3rd year of High School. This theme is important because a majority of the students present difficult in learning it. As a result of this thesis, the created didactic sequence is supported by the sequence in the unity 3, according to the author Zabala (1998) e have the following steps: 1) The teaching of Chemistry; 2) The teaching of oxygenated organic functions; 3) Propose of a didactic sequence that teaches oxygenated organic functions, divided in 6 moments shown here. 1st moment: presenting the content; 2nd moment: content approach; 3rd moment: experimental classes; 4th moment: exams; 5th moment: computer lab; 6th moment: molecular models confectionery workshop. In order to achieve that, it’s expected that the created didactic sequence contributes to a better understanding of the teachings of oxygenated organic functions for the high school. At the end of the experiment, the rise of interest of the students on the chemistry classes was clear, showing that the insertion of the sequence of learning was important to contribute to a new way of thinking about Chemistry.
