Arboviruses are a public health problem because of the potential of the dispersal vector mosquito, its ability to adapt to new environments and hosts, and the possibility of causing epidemics. In Brazil, the main arboviruses are Dengue, Chikungunya and Zika, since arboviruses that cause these diseases obtain the same vectors that are commonly found in urban areas (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus), due to the fact that the urban area offers conditions favorable to the development of these vectors, such as warmer climate, artificial and natural breeding sites for oviposition and population density. Despite these data, there are few studies in the Amazon regarding knowledge of urban populations in relation to the environment and interaction with the population. Thus, the school is a starting point for introducing health education so that students later disseminate information in society. From this perspective, the general objective of this work was to analyze the conceptions of the students of the third year of the High School of the State School Deputy Josué Claudio de Souza adjacent to the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of the Federal University of Amazonas (UFAM) about diseases caused by vectors. of arboviruses. Given the proximity of this population to one (APA). To analyze the students' conception of the subject matter, a structured questionnaire was applied and the data collected were analyzed in a qualitative and quantitative manner. Entomological collections were performed at the peridomicile, forest edge and forest, to survey arbovirus vector mosquitoes, to finally show the data to the students, these data were quantified, identified and tabulated. From the analysis of the questionnaires, it was possible to conclude that the students have a satisfactory basic level of knowledge about the main arboviruses in Brazil, since the students correctly answered the questions corresponding to most categories of the questionnaire. However, only 23.3% were able to associate the presence of mosquitoes in the school due to the anthropization process of APA-UFAM. This is alarming given that vectors of arboviruses (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus) and species with records of natural arbovirus infections (Limatus durhamii) were found in the school. On the forest edge (Trichoposopon digitatum) and in the forest (Sabethes glaucodaemon and Trichoposopon digitatum) were found mosquitoes that are naturally infected with arboviruses that can be transmitted to humans. Based on the analysis of the questionnaires, a lecture was held to explain the existing doubts and the relationship between the natural environment and the urban environment, their consequences due to the anthropization process related to the public health problem, arboviruses.

The use of plants has been a common practice for man since the dawn of civilizations. In the Amazon region, this practice occurs empirically, as a tradition of different peoples. Making an analysis of the teaching of Botany, it is noticed that many students feel discouraged in learning due to the scarcity of didactic resources and the use of school books as the only learning tool. The present work arose through a questioning in the supervised internship, where it was observed the way the vegetable content was being approached in the classroom, with this the research seeks to investigate what are the difficulties of teaching the learning of 2nd grade students medium in relation to the content of Plantae Kingdom, a survey questionnaire was applied to 30 students of the 2nd year of high school for the investigation of the problem. It is noted that even today we have few methodologies applied in the classroom for teaching vegetables, it is necessary that researchers and professors in the field of botany develop new methodologies so that this teaching becomes more pleasurable to students.

The school's search to promote meaningful teaching processes increasingly requires didactic resources that promote the relationship between theory and practice associated with the student's daily life. One way to motivate such processes is to use Non Conventional Food Plants (PANC) in the classroom. Given the above, the objective of this work is to build a proposal for teaching chemistry to students of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), in order to highlight the relationship between the composition of the material and the PANC. This study had a qualitative approach, being applied through action research with an EJA high school class at a State School in Manaus. The instruments for collecting and verifying learning occurred through diagnostic questionnaires and the intervention took place in four stages. The results showed that the students were unaware of the PANC and consequently did not know that they are excellent sources of nutrients and that they can be used in food. It has also been proven that it is possible to use PANC in chemistry classes, contextualizing the relationship between nutrients and the composition of matter. The integration of this knowledge associated with the “atomAR” software was significant for the students, as it helped in the understanding of the chemical elements, represented by the Rutherford-Bohr atomic model.

This work aimed to understand the conceptions of the students of the Federal Institute of Education Science and Technology (IFAM) regarding the destination of waste, in order to provide actions that raise awareness of the preservation and protection of natural resources in society. To this end, questionnaires were applied in a collection action at Ponta Negra beach and an online questionnaire with IFAM students. The results showed that although they are aware of the impacts caused by improper waste disposal, students also discard some materials incorrectly, such as electronic waste. Thus environmental education is the way for each individual to change habits by assuming new attitudes that lead to the reduction of environmental degradation and promote the conservation and improvement of quality of life in harmony with natural resources.

Biology teaching, over time, has been modified and updated concerning to the new methodologies and technologies of teaching Science. With the advance of computing, the computer promoted a series of changes not only on the robotics, medicine, agriculture, but also on education. In this sense, several studies point to the use of computer technologies to offer a diversity of new proceedings and resources of content learning, beyond the exclusively theoretical approaches. The main objective of this work was the development of a software as a tool of biology teaching, with a specific focus on mycology, studied in the middle school as the Kingdom of Fungi. It belongs to a wider chapter denominated Microbiology. The lack of connection between the microbiology topics and the life routine turns the learning of this important theme to a challenging task. It is necessary to develop strategies and technologies of teaching and learning that helps the teacher to stimulate the students to get curious about microorganisms and the possible relation of them to disease, food conservation, biotechnological applications, and so on. Understanding the contribution that an educational software can bring, a database software was developed as teaching resource about fungi, macro- and microscopic images, morphologic characteristics and the main properties of different genres, pathogenicity and/or biotechnological interests. The software DIGITAL MYCOTECA was used with students of the first year of the high school level of the Centro Educacional Santa Teresinha Analyzing the qualitative quantitative Questionnaires, initial (M1) and final (M2), answered by the students and the application of the practical class realized in the software laboratory, it could be seen that the proposed classes including the software DIGITAL MYCOTECA as a teaching tool, contributed to the learning about the Fungi Kingdom. It was evidenced, according to the students, that the classes were interesting and comprehensive. The results indicated that the use of appropriate educational software, can contribute with the teaching of mycology at the high school level.

Although the right to health is ensured by the Federal Constitution and Health Education is a mandatory topic under National Curriculum Parameters, health issues are often overlooked when addressing the biology discipline. Currently, the state of Amazonas has high epidemiological rates of leprosy, a reality that could be transformed through educational measures in schools. In addition, there is a need for transformation in the way education is conducted in educational institutions, since they should encourage students to develop reflection and critical thinking so that they can build their own knowledge, not just reproduce decontextualized information. From this conception, a didactic sequence was elaborated based on the methodology of educating by Pedro Demo's research and the methodology of the three pedagogical moments described by Delizoicov and Angotti, focusing on health education for leprosy prevention. The results showed that working health education from the perspective of educating through research was indispensable to motivate students to actively participate in the class, therefore, to become subjects of the teaching and learning process. The present study is expected to contribute positively to the adoption of methodologies, that use research education, to address health education topics in the science or biology discipline

Environmental conservation is one of the topics addressed in basic education and involves questions about the environment and the living beings that inhabit it. In the formal classes of the discipline of Biology, the curricular contents proposed in textbooks rarely highlight the species of the Amazon fauna. The questions that guided this research corroborate the knowledge of the animals of the Amazon and the aquatic environments of our region. The objective of this research was to apply the didactic sequence in the teaching of biology in the study of aquatic and semiaquatic fauna of a non-formal space, contributing to the learning process and evaluation of the educational product related to the master’s research. Emphasizing the species of the Amazon region, a non-formal space, the botanical garden Museu da Amazônia (MUSA). The participants were 30 students from a class of the 3rd grade of high school in a public school in the city of Manaus, Amazonas. The methodological approach used was the qualitative approach in which the data were obtained with the application of questionnaires for data collection. The adopted method was the action research allied to the resource of the didactic sequence applied in six moments. In the first moment, the orientation goes up the planning of teaching and application of the previous questionnaire to the students. In the second moment occurred the application of lectures and theoretical dialogues with the presentation of the content of Zoology focused on Amazonian animals. In the third moment the orientation given to the students was about how the visit to the Musa would happen. In the fourth moment took place the field class in the Botanical Garden Museum of the Amazon with the realization of recognition, observation, collection of images and data of aquatic and semiaquatic species native to this space. In the fifth moment there was the participation of the students in the pedagogical workshop with the ludic activities carried out by the teacher. In the sixth moment, the closure of the data collection was finalized. The results showed that the students did not know some Amazonian animals and that after the implementation of the Didactic Sequence, in the pedagogical workshop, improved the scientific knowledge of the Amazon biota, valued teamwork, developed socialization, were motivated to awaken environmental awareness and conservation of the environment. The detailing of the didactic sequence in this research aims to serve as a support to Biology teachers in the study of Zoology.

Helminthiases are intestinal diseases caused by helminths (worms), representing a significant challenge for public health. This problem is aggravated by the disparity in the distribution of basic sanitation services and the lack of information about infections, their modes of transmission and prophylactic measures. Thus, one of the ways to promote health and encourage healthy lifestyle practices is through health education in the school environment. This practice not only encourages changes in behavior, but also contributes substantially to improving quality of life and fosters the development of knowledge that promotes self-care. In this learning context, the use of comic books can be presented as a didactic alternative that facilitates the teaching and learning process on the topic of helminthiasis. Comics and their various genres have become popular in recent decades and have been inserted into the school environment with the purpose of assisting in the development of learning situations. Therefore, this research aims to investigate a didactic proposal systematized in the Three Pedagogical Moments (3MP), focusing on teaching and learning the theme of helminthiasis through comic books, aimed at high school students. The approach adopted in this research is qualitative in nature, using participatory research as its methodology. Data collection took place through the application of a diagnostic questionnaire, the answers to which helped both in verifying prior knowledge about the topic in question and in characterizing the subjects; and final questionnaire for the research and production of digital comics, in addition to participant observation. The results of the questionnaires were tabulated and analyzed in Microsoft Excel and presented in the form of tables and graphs, while the comics were evaluated based on an analytical rubric. The educational product resulting from this research is a teaching guide entitled “Health education from the production of comic books: teaching guide”, which presents a didactic proposal for health education in high school. The use of 3MP in conjunction with the language of comics, combined with activities centered on the active participation of students, played a fundamental role in the engagement and motivation of participants throughout the pedagogical activities. This resulted in a better understanding of the content studied and the acquisition of new knowledge related to the forms of transmission, symptoms, causative agents and prevention measures for helminthiasis.

Biology Botany is a science that studies the vegetables. Its symbols, terms, names and concepts are difficult to learn and also difficult to remember making little students are interested in this discipline. Studying plants sets up a challenge for teachers and students especially when it comes to addressing contents that are hardly discussed in the classroom as in the case of medicinal plants. Medicinal plants are presented as an important component of the flora and know it is of fundamental importance for the Amazon region since they have great cultural, social and economic prominence. Thus this work aimed at promoting diverse educational alternatives, prioritizing the inclusion of the element "plant", the group of angiosperms, in the teaching and learning of botany to content sensitize students to the importance of the crop study with emphasis on medicinal plants with the purpose of dissemination of Amazonian potential, preservation and conservation of the environment. The survey was conducted at the IFAM Federal Institute of Science and Technology Education Campus Manaus / Centre with 79 students from three classes of high school integrated into the computer technician, mechanical and buildings. The methodology used in this research was qualitative in nature. We used the questionnaire as a data collection tool for probing the prior knowledge about medicinal plants, with 12 questions including six open questions and closed six. In the survey, it was possible to list 40 species of medicinal plants known to students. After the survey conducted diversified interventions starting with dialogued lectures to introduce all topics and then the practical classes. Data collection was conducted in IFAM/CMC gardens with students in a group, where we identify 18 different species of medicinal, non-medicinal and ornamental. Of the 18 species, 16 were herborized for making herbarium. The structural study provided extensive questions about the morphological differences of root, stem, leaves and fruit between monocots and dicots. The activities for leaf anatomy was performed with the species Plectranthus barbatus (Bilberry) and Cymbopogon citratus (Capim Santo) because they were the two most medicinal plants cited by the students in the survey of prior knowledge. The record of all activities culminated in the construction of a portfolio. At the end of the activities and how assessment, the groups socialized work in seminar which presented the portfolio and the vouchers specimens. It was possible to analyze the data from the materials produced by the students, but the experience, the commitment and the development of activities were the most important elements and significant observed during the classes.
