Item Ocorrência parasitaria em peixes de agua doce comercializados em Manaus, Amazonas, Brasil(2019-12-02) Oliveira, Jéssica Barbosa de; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Neves, Kilma Cristiane Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8447103284183216; Sousa, Eduardo Lima de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/0603403280314248The fish is a protein of high value nutritional appreciated enough by the population manauara. When they took care during his conservation and handling they become essential for maintenance of the quality and prevention of zoonoses of parasitic origin. Given his food importance, this study aimed to report the parasitic incident and the quality of fishes marketed in Manaus AM. Acquired 47 samples of fresh fish in three places (Market of the Betânia, Mercado Municipal Adolpho Lisboa, and Oporto of the CEASA), for sensory analyses, chemical physical and parasitic, what were carried out in the Laboratory of Veterinary Anatomy of the IFAM Campus Manaus Eastern Zone, between August 2018 to July 2019. The fish is considered parasites were preserved in formol to 10% and identified through stereoscope. Health and quality of the fishes happened still an interview with objective questions to 25 market traders on the subject. 100% (25/25) finds the fish a healthy food; 32%(8/25) believes that the fish does not make equal ill to other animals; 44% (11/25) affirms that there is no possibility of transmission of diseases through the fish; 76% (19/25) understands that the veterinary doctor is important to guarantee the health and the quality of the fish; and 68% (17/25) affirmed to have interest in receiving materials on good practices of handling and conservation of the fish. In the analyses chemical physical, 42,5% (20/47) presented pH bigger than 7,0, and 100% (47/47) temperature between 14.2ºC to 20Cº. In the sensory analyses, 91,48% (43/47) presented at least an alteration in the form, color or odor, possibly made a list to the conservation and / to the storage in the collection places. The parasitic incident was positive in 12,7% (6/47) of the samples with 10,6% (5/47) for Acanthocephala sp., 0,6% (3/47) for examples of Colossoma macropomum and 0,4% (2/47) of Triportheus albus. In 0,2% (1/47), represented by a specimen of Semaprochilodus taeniurus, it found a trematódeo of the suborder Digenea, I live in this fish. Such trematódeos are between the important parasites of the medicine that can cause serious damages to the health, including the death, if the fish is consumed rawly. The chemical physical, sensory alterations, and parasitology found observed in this study they show that there is compromising of the quality and innocuity of the fish, so the confirmation of the parasitic incident indicates the possibility to have transmission of zoonoses. Before the results, there is suggested the realization of the most effective services of inspection and inspection, and also what are adopted better conditions of conservation and storage to guarantee the quality and innocuity of the fish marketed in markets of Manaus.Item Perfil proteico, energetico, enzimático e mineral de Búfalas Murrah alimentadas com dieta á base de cana-de-açúcar e diferentes concentrações de ureia(2019-12-03) Praia, Daniel da Silva; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Castro, Francisco Martins de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2942899610434005; Elias, Eliana Pereira; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/9977486802768496Due to the need to understand and maintain the necessary nutritional balance conditions in animal production, the objective of this study was to determine the profile of the main American biochemical variables and to evaluate how the nutritional and physiological variables of these individuals are met in relation to this alternative way. The experiment was conducted in the Bubalinoculture sector of the Department of Animal Science, Laboratory of Metabolic and Nutritional Diseases of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and at the Center for Analytical Chemistry of the Research Support Center (CENAPESQ), both from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). . Nineteen new Murrah buffaloes with initial mean body weight (CP) of 210 ± 50 kg were used. The animals were weighed, used and deminerated before the beginning of the experimental period and housed in individual stalls, individual feeders and tonnage drinkers for two animals. The study lasted 62 days, from July 26 to September 26, 2019. It was found that the provision of sugarcane-based diet supplemented with increasing urea levels of 0, 0.7, 1, 4 and 2.1% for murrah buffalo heifers negatively influence the weight gain of these animals, and linearly increase serum urea and urea nitrogen (BUN) concentration, does not affect energy, protein, mineral metabolism and enzymatic activity. Therefore, it does not recommend the use of sugarcane diets with the urea use ranges to murrah buffalo heifers using weight gain. M But an experimental diet is recommended as an alternative food maintenance alternative, which can be used both as an economically viable option for the monetary value of its components, and as a valuable food source applied to scarce food. foods and regions that highlighted the production of national sugarcane, especially the northeast of Brazil.Item Estabilização da articulação sacroilíaca de um felino com uso de parafuso ortopédico convencional para reparo de luxação(2019-12-03) Santos, Luciana Sarmento dos; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Leandro, Estevão Marcio Cavalcante; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/3882732903717316; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307Pelvic fractures are estimated to be the most common in small animal clinics, accounting for about 27% of all cases of axial skeleton fractures. This large percentage is due to its occurrence being related to car accidents, falls and bites, not excluding the hereditary osteometabolic diseases and bone tumors. Treatment may be conservative, with medication and space restriction, or surgical, which is defined after information provided by anamnesis, clinical examination and diagnostic imaging, especially with radiographic examination. There are several types of approach and surgical technique for each type of fracture. Thus, the veterinarian should be fully educated so that he can opt for the best possible treatment, as there are several. In addition to instructing the pet tutor about the space constraint that the pet will need for a certain period and the appropriate clinical support for the pet.Item Influência dos hormônios esteroides sexuais femininos na resistência insulínica em cadelas - revisão bibliográfica(2019-12-05) Oliveira, Natália Manuela Cardoso de; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Vieira, Flavia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Hoffmann, Daniel José; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993Insulin resistance is a term that refers to the ineffective action of insulin in tissues, being developed by several factors, from infectious and nutritional diseases to the hormonal influence by endocrinopathies, use of diabetogenic drugs and physiological hormonal periods in female dogs. This review aims to describe the influence of female sex steroid hormones on the triggering of insulin resistance in non-castrated female dogs. It is observed that the mechanism of action of insulin is compromised by the action of progesterone and estradiol in the body in addition to other hyperglycemic hormones that together with genetic, environmental and autoimmune factors, can trigger transient or gestational diabetes in female dogs. It is concluded that diabetes mellitus in whole canine patients intensifies the definition of endocrinopathy as a multifactorial disorder, where there are few studies involving transient or gestational diabetes mellitus, but its risk is mentioned in the literature due to the possibility of a permanent picture in some cases. and for being responsible for conveying the importance of castration in the control of diabetic bitches and in the prevention of those at risk.Item Cuidados iniciais com o neonato canino-revisão de literatura(2019-12-05) Esteves, Isis Mônica Fontes; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Amaral, Rodrigo de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3589101457101968; Vieira , Flavia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Hoffmann, Daniel José; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993Neonatology is defined as the science responsible for the study concerning newborns. The canine neonatal period comprises the first two weeks of life of the puppy and this time requires specific care due to its fragility and particularities. The neonatal phase is full of adaptations that occur concomitantly with the development of vital functions not performed during intrauterine life. During birth the newborn is subjected to stress when moving from a liquid, closed and stable temperature environment to a dry, open and variable temperature environment, being forced, even under the best conditions, to undergo circulatory, respiratory, metabolic and other changes. Immunological So many changes make neonatal physiology different when compared to adult canine and require specialized care, as the mortality of puppies in veterinary medicine is high compared to human medicine. The bitch's health before pregnancy may reflect directly on embryonic, fetal and neonatal survival. Therefore, the female should be followed before pregnancy, undergoing pre-pregnancy examinations and throughout prenatal follow-up. Given the above, this paper aims to perform a literature review on the care to which the canine newborn should be submitted, specifically considering it’s particular physiology, some of the pathologies that may affect it and the integrity of maternal health to ensure its viability to the world. extrauterine.Item Bem-estar animal no manejo pré-abate e abate de aves: revisão de literatura(2019-12-06) Albuquerque, Mariana Silva; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos Santos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390; Brandão, Mariza Dinah Manes; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/8540977723934655Animal Welfare is characterized by ensuring adequate management conditions, whether it is the nutritional, environmental or genetic parameters, making it possible to animal adapt and interact in the best possible way to the environment in which it lives. Thus, this study aims to conduct a bibliographic review on animal welfare in pre-slaughter and slaughter management of chicken, describing pre-slaughter activities, stunning, bleeding and the Certified Humane® program. Improper handling of animals during pre-slaughter and slaughter can represent significant losses in meat quality and value, also being a key factor in ensuring welfare in poultry production. To this end, the particularities of each species must be respected from catching the animals at the farm until the time of slaughter, therefore, avoiding animal maltreatment and to promote actions aimed at animal protection and welfare. Once welfare standards are met, the chances are high that a quality end product will be obtained without high levels of partial or total carcass condemnation.Item Glaucoma em pequenos animais - revisão de literatura(2019-12-06) Marques, Viviane de Araújo; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Souza, Alexandre Navarro Alves de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0437267624497986; Lima, Cristiano Lopes de; Cavalcante, Akel AraujoGlaucoma is a term used for a group of diseases characterized by increased intraocular pressure, which can progress to blindness through functional changes in the optic nerve and retina. This work aims to present the different classifications of glaucoma, to describe the main consequent intraocular changes and the most used diagnostic and therapeutic choices in the veterinary ophthalmic routine. This is a bibliographic research in which we sought to study several articles, dissertations, literary source and research projects regarding glaucoma and its ophthalmic implications. It has been found that glaucoma in small animals may be primary, when it originates from a defect in the aqueous humor drainage angle, or secondary, when a previous alteration led to the glaucomatous condition. All intraocular structures may change due to glaucoma. The diagnosis is made by clinical signs, added to the increase in intraocular pressure, drainage angle and fundus changes, verified by complementary exams. Therapeutic approaches, medical or surgical procedures, aim to slow the progression of the disease, either by reducing the aqueous humor production and/or stimulating its drainage. It is considered crucial for the best prognosis to understand the cause and evolution of the disease, so that the therapeutic choice can be successful in delaying the disease and maintaining vision.Item Serviços de inspeção de produtos de origem animal no Brasil: histórico e atualidades(2019-12-06) Lima, Stéfane Paula Costa de Holanda; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Santos, Felipe Faccini dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2863984157626236; Reis, Rodiney Medeiros dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/8812070618495058; Silva, Isnandia Andreia Almeida daInspection services of animal products in Brazil has an economic, social and political importance because they control the hygienic and sanitary conditions of food companies. The lack of knowledge about the current industrial inspection legislation affects the food safety and promote informality in the food chain. In this sense, the present study aimed to describe the public policies for food safety in Brazil, as well as aspects of food safety that permeate the official inspection services, through a bibliographic review of the food hygiene legislation and scientific articles. From this work, it can be concluded that the sanitary legislation in Brazil has undergone several changes due to the increased production and export of animal products. It is still necessary regulate the artisanal production in order to understand and delimit the handmade process, without leaving doubts or gaps in what may affect the safety of food. In addition, irregular production is still a reality in Brazil and represents a great threat to public health. In Brazil there is a description of the occurrence of tegumentary leishmaniosis and visceral leishmaniosis. The tegumentary form presents high casuistics in humans in the northern region. The present work evaluated 152 hematological samples obtained by peripheral venopuncture of dogs serororreagents to the DPP in the municipalities of Manaus/AM and Presidente Figueiredo/AM, endemic regions for t egumentary leishmaniosis. Erythrogram and leukogram were performed using a traditional manual technique and the differential leukocyte count was performed under optical microscopy, in immersion lens (100x). Of the 152 samples 32 were reagents for Leishmania spp. However, blood count, erythrocytes values, globular volume, leukocytes, platelets and total plasma protein showed no statistical difference between reactive and non reactive animals (p>0.05). However, dogs with leishmania spp may remain asymptomatic not presenting suggestive hematological alterations, since the most frequent clinical manifestation is dermatological. It is concluded that PPD is useful tool for screening leishmania sp p. although it does not present specificit y, false positives may occur. The hematological carcaterization of the samples studied did not present diagnostic indication. Thus, further studies are needed to investigate leishmania spp species involved in infections in domestic dogs in the Amazon r egions and their relationship with cases of human tegumentary leishmaniasis.Item Tratamentos combinados para controle dos sintomas e qualidade de vida em cães com dermatite atópica(2019-12-09) Almeida, Patrícia Batista de; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Tonin, Alexandre Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6912106214152950; Hoffmann, Daniel José; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993In the case series of consultations performed at the small animal medical clinic, more specifically in dermatology, we have canine atopic dermatitis as a dermatopathy of significant occurrence. Canine atopic dermatitis is a genetically determined, chronic, itchy inflammatory disease associated with type I hypersensitivity to environmental allergens and type IV hypersensitivity, leading to impairment of the quality of life of animals, including their guardians. given the difficulty in controlling the clinical condition and the high cost of treatment. Its pathogenesis is multifactorial, however, it is believed that an abnormality in the epidermal barrier is an exacerbating critic, if not the main one of canine atopic dermatitis. IL-31 is a cytokine that is involved in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis and is elevated in pruritic conditions. Food allergy can also trigger canine atopic dermatitis. Clinical signs include erythematous macules, small papules, self-induced alopecia, excoriations, lichenification, snout hyperpigmentation, concave face of the ear, ventral neck, armpits, groin, abdomen, perineum, ventral tail, flexural and of the extremities, whether or not seasonal. Diagnostic tests may include measurement of pruritus, assessment of animal behavior, visual scale, Canine Atopic Dermatitis Extension and Severity Index - CADESI, exclusion of ectoparasites, exclusion of food allergy, exclusion of dermatophytosis, cutaneous lymphomas. We can also interpret clinical findings using Favrot criteria, intradermal testing, and allergen-specific sorology. The treatment is multimodal and consists of the combination or not of drugs such as oral or topical glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, specific allergen immunotherapy, oclacitinib, canine anti-IL31 monoclonal antibody, oral fatty acid supplements 3 and 6, use of specific shampoos, and hypoallergenic diets with hydrolyzed proteins. Because the disease is difficult to diagnose and treat, it is important to develop a literature review that addresses the disease and its treatment more current, thus facilitating the understanding and direction of consultation at the veterinary clinic and veterinary dermatology. This study aims to review the therapeutic possibilities for CAD, highlighting its indications, advantages and disadvantages for the control of associated symptoms.Item Soroprevalência e determinação epidemiológica de fatores de risco associados a infecção por Leishmania spp. em cães dos municípios de Manaus e Presidente Figueiredo(2019-12-09) Firmino, Débora Menezes; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Tonin, Alexandre Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6912106214152950; Hoffmann; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/4603328886760993Leishmaniasis is a parasitosis that has attracted the attention of health authorities in recent years, as the numbers of cases are increasing in Brazil. The dog is considered the most important species, because there is a large contingent of animals infected with skin parasitism, constituting the main link in the chain of transmission of visceral leishmaniasis, since the dog's role as a reservoir of LT has been discussed and under study. In Amazonas the incidence of cutaneous leishmaniasis increased significantly, following the economic growth of the state. In this research the presence of anti-leishmania spp. and epidemiological determination of risk factors associated with Leishmania spp. in dogs from the municipalities of Manaus and Presidente Figueiredo in the state of Amazonas. They were analyzed in 152 dogs, 50 in Manaus and 102 in Presidente Figueiredo, and 32 were positive. The test performed for screening for leishmaniasis was Exame Dual Path Platform (DPP®). Clinical signs are dermatological, ranging from erythema, lichenification, pruritus, and alopecia, rarely causing systemic disorder. The diagnosis can be confirmed by skin cytology, with the presence of more than two fungi per scanning field, the fungal culture is also an option. This paper aims to describe the use of ozonetherapy on a canine patient with malasseziosis resistant to conventional treatment. The treatment was performed with the association of several ozonetherapy techniques, as follows: bagging, rectal insufflation and through ozonated minor autohemotherapy. After 13 weekly sessions the clinical signs regressed greatly. Thus, ozonetherapy was effective in controlling the malasseziosis.Item Resistencia anti-helmíntica em cordeiros pós uso do monepantel.(2019-12-10) Gomes, Thais da Silva; Sousa, Isadora Karolina Freitas de; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2017103871290472; Sousa, Isadora Karolina Freitas; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/2017103871290472; Tonin, Alexandre Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6912106214152950; Santos, Jomel Francisco dos; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/6150387477411390Sheep farming is an activity of great importance in the country, it is based on the exploitation of meat, and wool. But facing a big problem in its expansion: the occurrence of verminosis in sheep herds. This disease causes serious economic damage. Because it decreases investment and increases mortality rates. Thus, for treatment, several classes of anti-helminthic are used. However, due to indiscriminate use, parasites develop resistance, making protocols ineffective. The aim of the study is to know the resistance anti-helminthine in sheep after the use of monepantel in lambs. In addition, to diagnose the situation of anti-helminthian resistance in these animals and quantify the parasitic load in different breeds and crosses. The study was conducted with 90 animals and administered monepantel (2,5 mg/kg, orally). The evaluation was performed in different breeds and crosses: G1 - Ile de France (n=12), G2 - Ile de France cross (n=12), G3 - Poll Dorset (n=4), G4 - Texel (n=4), G5 - Sulffolk (n=6), G6 – Suffolk cross (n=7), G7 - Santa Inês (n=11), G8 - Dorper x Santa Inês cross (n=4), G9 - Dorper cross (n=15) e G10 - White Dorper cross (n=15). Feces collection and egg count per gram of feces (EPG) were performed in two moments for evaluation: M1 – before administration of the drug and M2 – 14 days later. The maximum reduction in OPG count was 100% in the Texel breed and Dorper with Santa Inês cross. The Dorper cross was the lowest reduction in EPG count with 32.45%. Purebred sheep had lower number of EPG for Strongyloidea (M1 280,55 ± 536,526; M2 35,13 ± 105,97) compared to animals from crosses (M1 887,27 ± 1382,12; M2 407,27 ± 772,16). Parasitic resistance to monepantel was observed in eight of the ten breeds and crosses used in the study for Strongyloidea.Item Manejo dietético na doença renal crônica felina(2019-12-13) Aragão, Emanuela Ipuchima Guimarães; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Vieira, Flávia Volpato; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1627861597325307; Tonin, Alexandre Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6912106214152950; Brandão, Mariza Dinah Manes; CV: http://lattes.cnpq.br/8540977723934655Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is the most common metabolic disease in domestic cats. It occurs when the kidneys become unable to maintain their excretory, regulatory and endocrine functions in animals. The clinical picture of a feline with CKD is nonspecific and the most commonly observed clinical signs include anorexia, lethargy, polyuria and polydipsia. Clinical and historical findings suggestive of CKD, as well as increased serum creatinine concentration, inappropriately low specific urinary density, persistent increase in symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), and evidence of sonographic changes. Staging is performed after CKD diagnosis, based on blood creatinine or SDMA concentration, and substaging is based on whether or not hypertension and proteinuria occur. Treatment consists of supportive and symptomatic therapy designed to correct abnormalities in hydroelectrolytic, acid-base, endocrine and nutritional balance. Diet modification are considered standard therapy for the treatment of CKD. Renal diets (RDs) are specifically formulated for the purpose of clinical management of cats with CKD, modified based on the impact of declining renal function and supplemented with nutrients that improve disease complications. Protein restriction is recommended as they reduce nitrogenous waste and glomerular proteinuria; lowering serum phosphorus concentration is also associated with better long-term survival, decreasing the incidence of secondary hyperparathyroidism; Reducing sodium intake may be beneficial in CKD patients due to sodium retention and the potential for systemic arterial hypertension. Hypokalemia is common in cats with CKD, and diets formulated for CKD may provide potassium supplementation; supplementation with polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids (EPA) exerts renoprotective effects, may reduce glomerular hypertension and proteinuria, and limit the production of proinflammatory mediators. Thus, renal diets play an important role in decreasing clinical signs of uremia and, in the face of a progressive disease, slowing the progression of the disease, which increases the expectation and quality of life of patients. Thus, the objective of this study was to review the nutritional management of cats with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and to discuss the main nutrients present in renal diets.Item USO DE ÓLEO ESSENCIAL DE ERVA CIDREIRA, Lippia alba, COMO SUBSTÂNCIA SEDATIVA PARA JUVENIS DE ARRAIA CURURU, Potamotrygon wallacei(2020-11-19) Malcher Neto, Thiago Santana; Espírito Santo, Edson Francisco do; Espírito Santo, Edson Francisco do,; Sousa, Eduardo Lima de; Sardá, Francine de OliveiraThis study used the essential oil of Lippia alba as a sedative to transport juvenile stingrays of the species Potamotrygon wallacei (cururu stingray), for a period of 24h. To establish the ideal concentration, increasing doses of 5, 10 and 15μL.L-1 of the substance were used in two experimental steps. In the first, the behavior of the exposed animals was evaluated, and in the next, the identification of possible physiological changes and gill morphology. For the assessment of behavior in each treatment, six individuals were individually opened open bags containing 1 L of water provided with constant aeration. At four-hour intervals (0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 24h), the spirarular frequency, reflex activity and swimming capacity of each animal were evaluated. The concentration 5μL.L-1 did little to change the animals' activity, which was discarded for the 2nd stage. The other concentrations (10 and 15μL.L-1) promoted stages of light and deep sedation in individuals, respectively, with the 15μL.L-1 causing death in the last four hours of the experiment. In the second stage, hematological parameters, plasma metabolites and possible changes in the histology of the gills were evaluated after 24h of exposure. The hematological parameters at both concentrations did not differ from the pre-exposure group, as did the plasma metabolites, with the exception of lactate, which was significantly lower at the concentration of 15μL.L-1. In histology, the changes observed were similar in both concentrations tested, which are reversible, with identification of mild hyperplasia and hypertrophy of epithelial cells and chloride. In addition, there was no death at this stage. Thus, due to the absence of mortality, in addition to the sedative potential and the absence of irreversible lesions in the animals' gill apparatus, the concentration of 10μL.L-1 proved to be the most suitable for the transport of individuals from the stingray for periods of 24h. However, in the literature there are few reports of the main conditions and their treatments, mainly in the northern region of the country. Therefore, a retrospective study of dogs and cats attended at four veterinary clinics in Manaus-AM, from 2018 to 2020, was carried out, with the aim of identifying and characterizing these animals and the most frequent neurological diseases. 185 clinical records of dogs and cats were evaluated based on the presumptive and conclusive diagnoses of neurological diseases. The highest occurrence was found in patients over the age of nine (36/22.6%), dogs (169/91.4%), males (96/56.8%) among dogs and cats and mixed breed (63/34.0%) in both species in total. The conclusive diagnosis in dogs of greater occurrence was the epileptic seizure (36/40.9%), followed by peripheral vestibular syndrome in patients diagnosed with otitis (9/10.2%). Most cats were diagnosed with injuries related to the spine (3/50%), followed by epileptic seizures (2/33.3%). The prophylaxis of neurological diseases depends a lot on the cause and, in those of infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and even traumatic origin, it is necessary for veterinarians to take actions to raise the awareness of the tutors of small animals regarding the importance of basic care in preventing these diseases. This being a regional species of little interest to the population of the city of Manaus, the elaboration of a hamburger had the purpose of giving visibility to the species. In view of the market needs for clean label products, cupuaçu pulp was added, acting as a substitute for the synthetic antioxidant. During the course of the study, analyzes of centesimal composition, pH, stability of storage analyzes were performed in the three treatments applied (positive control, negative control and cupuaçu pulp) and colorimetric analyzes. In centesimal, the lipid composition of the treatment with cupuaçu pulp was the highest, (3.96%), as well as the pH, which was more acid in relation to the other treatments. The positive control showed a higher percentage of yield (88.93%) and less reduction during cooking (4.97%). The colorimetric analyzes indicated that, during storage, the luminosity (L *) was increasing in all treatments, and hamburgers tended to green at coordinate a * and yellow at b *. Regarding TBAR’s values, the negative and positive controls remained within the limit (2 mg MDA / kg) until 60 days, and for the clean label, the values were higher from the moment zero. It can be said that there is feasibility in producing the piramutaba fish burger, given the satisfactory characteristics presented, highlighting the need for further studies for the use of cupuaçu pulp as a natural antioxidant. Bearing in mind that the state supervisory body, ADAF, carries out inspections in establishments with S.I.E. according to their risk, the objective of this work was to verify the effectiveness of the TF and to classify poultry farms according to the percentage of conformities. Thus, data were collected from 36 establishments in operation and perform their quantitative and percentage of non-conformities and conformities in relation to what is normally expected for a registered farm. These data were collected with the help of the TF, which was composed of 14 items and divided into other sub-items. Thus, it was identified that only nine farms are classified with an excellent percentage of conformities, 11 farms as good, 11 farms as regular and two farms as bad. Given these classifications, it can be said that more than half of the farms are within the expected standards. It is identified that, if the farms that obtained a classification lower than 50% of conformities, more than one inspection was carried out throughout the year, these would possibly have better performances, a situation observed in other places with such frequency. With that, it is concluded that, if the farms followed the model established in legislation, they would avoid the occurrences of non-conformities, inspection difficulties, improve the quality of the products, and consequently avoid the DTA’s. However, information about their reproductive biology is scarce and most of the data obtained is from snakes in captivity. Thus, the work aims to describe the histological aspects of the sexual segment of the kidney (SSK), a specialized part of the kidneys. Therefore, histological analysis and measurement of SSK were performed from 12 specimens of Corallus hortulanus collected in different months of the year. The histological aspects of the SSK observed were similar to those described for other species of snakes and the tubular segments had an average diameter of 76.8 ± 25.6 μm. However, a great variation was observed in the morphological aspects (hypertrophy, presence and disposition of granules) and in the diameter of the tubular segments among the individuals analyzed, apparently related to reproductive seasonality. The results obtained in this study contribute to a greater understanding of the reproductive aspects of C. hortulanus and the possible seasonal variations should be better investigated. The main symptoms can be fever, cough and dyspnoea and the risk may increase with age and the presence of other associated diseases in the patient. Currently, treatment is supportive and vaccination is the most effective method of combating the virus, but, given the still limited number of vaccines in the world, it is still necessary to continue preventive measures, preventing the virus from spreading, thus protecting way, yourself and others. Most global strategies for responding to the fight against this disease include various levels of contact screening and self-isolation or quarantine, which are the best forms of prevention and also the way to prevent further spread of the virus. Due to social isolation for disease prevention, one of the alternatives that can be used to provide information based on health education to the general population is through the mass media. Thus, the objective of this work was to use social networks as a tool to raise public awareness in relation to the prevention of COVID-19, in order to offer and facilitate access to educational information. The disclosure of the information occurred through daily posts through the @educacaoesaude_medvet profile of the social network Instagram®, which contributed to the presentation of satisfactory results related to the online questionnaire prepared in Google Forms, with questions on the following points: new coronavirus (SarsCoV-2) and disease (COVID-19) and the role of communication channels in the dissemination of true and false information. Which resulted in a total of 278 responses reaching an audience from all Brazilian states, with 80% of the participants residing in Manaus-AM. The filling was anonymous and voluntary, qualitative and quantitative in terms of the content and information conveyed inherent to the disease. This work resulted in the publication of a scientific article for the academic community, in the journal Archives of Veterinary Sciences and Zoology of University Paranaense-UNIPAR. Given the importance of the theme, it is necessary to continue this project through health education actions with the dissemination of health information, sources with true information, booklets and daily publications to reach a greater number of individuals and thus contribute to the formation of critical awareness. about the disease and maintaining its prevention.
